Home visits?

I was just wondering if anyone else has had a 36 week home visit?! I had a missed call from a support worker saying she needs to do a home visit. I don't like new people coming to my house ( strange I no, but I get nervous ) so do you think I need this appointment? What's it about? Does everyone have it? Really don't like the sound of it!

Oh and also as this is my first I have no idea what to expect once baby is here with midwife visits can anyone tell me how often they come?

no i never had this in three pregnancies, i would call and ask for more info if i was you?

we don't have home visits here unless you are having a home birth, however it varies from area to area. i am sure if you really don't want them there you can request to not have one.

after birth you will be under midwife care for 10 days and the midwife normally comes as many times as you need her (hopefully!).
i saw mine 3 times with ds1, 3 times with ds2 and once or twice with ds3. other friends have had daily visits
