Sorry all - really feel I am bombarding you with a million questions. Am 5 weeks probs +4 and I am (a) constipated - I normally am a bit constipated but now I am REALLY constipated and I feel like I may never go again - 2 weeks ago I was more regular than ever and now....nada....except
(b) WIND. Oh my WORD. I am so windy. Is this normal? Am I normal? (I suspect not but that's an entirely different conversation.... :-) )

Ha ha, I can sympathise!! I too am 5 weeks +4 (I think) and the not-so-nice symptoms have kicked in (though are any symptoms nice??!)

Yes on the constipation front - I have never been overly 'regular' but seriously, this is getting a bit ridiculous now (and painful) Sad

And yes on the windypops front - though Im prone to 'letting it out' anyway so not sure DH has noticed any difference!!

All good fun huh??!! Smile

Oh Yes The Wind! I have had that in both my pg's for the first few months! Sometimes so badly trapped that it was really painful Sad But is has died down now (19 weeks) but I try to avoid 'windy food' and fizzy drinks anyway!!
Might you have to go to the Dr for something for the constipation? You can't just NOT GO!

(TMI PS. My stomach thens to go the other way!) Grin
What larks!!

Ohhhhhhhhh. I remember it well. Get something prescribed. I too then went the other way. Pregnancy hormones really mess up your digestion.

I'm afraid the wind is here to stay. I started it at a few weeks pg, am now 32w, and it is still there. Eating an awful lot of fibre can help a little - you'll still get quite a lot, but it won't be as toxic (sorry for the TMI on that)

millyv · 19/01/2012 12:33

I'm 18+4 and the wind is still in full force! You may need to see about getting something for the constipation though, have you tried prune juice, dried apricots etc...? Oh the joys of pregnancy!!
xx

Hi there,
I had the same problem from 6 weeks, didn't go for 10 days. Went to the doctor as I felt so bloated and sick. He gave me 'Fybo Gel', little packets that you add to water. SAFE IN PREGNANCY. Took the first drink that night and by the next afternoon had a 'movement'. Not a large one, but things started to get underway.
I am now 9 weeks, still got wind, upstairs and down (charming).
Hope this helps.

Oh my word I am now horrendously bloated too - quite hideous and sore and feel most miserable!!!
