Bloating and wind

I'm just 6 weeks and generally look about 25 weeks as I am constantly bloated and have quite bad wind Blush. I do have IBS and am wheat intolerant but I've been quite careful what I eat.

Its really getting me down, none of my clothes fit round the waist and I am keeping a very low profile as its fairly obvious and I don't want to tell anyone until my scan.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Hello! You and I have the same issue!

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and my stomach/wind are ridiculous!

The lovely angel786 recommended these badboys:

Used it today and it's been fab! Definitely recommended.

I'm on the July thread and lots of us have been suffering like you. I've been wearing leggings and loose dresses since week 5 as my trousers were all too tight. On the positive side I don't think my bloated belly's grown all that much since then and I'm almost 16 weeks now, there's just now a proper baby bump underneath it!
A few people on the thread have recommended lactulose (which I've successfully used in the past for iron tablet-related constipation in pregnancy), and I've also found that exercise and lots of water helps a bit, but have basically been putting up with it and am really hoping it eases off soon. I don't remember having it this bad in previous pregnancies!
Hope we're all feeling better and less gassy soon x

Hi Ladygagoo
I'm a fellow wheat intolerant person - I'm now 10 weeks and glad to say that my wind has seemed to have passed a wee bit. Although I got a real taste for spelt bread, which has seemingly caused me a few of wheat intolerances now and so have to knock that on the head. I'm on the August thread and have just been posting about food there. Hmm must stop now as I'm a complete bore and obsessed with it!

I have noticed I get very bad wind from certain foods, salad is one and so I try not to have too much of it, at night especially. I am eating more brown rice as risottos and paellas, baked potatoes and these don't seem to bloat me. Also found brown rice noodles and miso with tofu and pak choi quite agreeable and non windy. I know it's very personal of what can be digested properly and so hopefully you can find a few combinations that might not be so wind promoting. I definitely found that my wind has calmed down and so I hope your's might too.

Oh yes, water - lots of it!
and for constipation - more fruit than normal...
OK I'll stop now as I'm going on x

actimel type probiotic drinks can work wonders too :)
