hello
well monday morning I went to the toilet and I was bleeding so rang labour ward im 28+4 they told me to go straight in they decided they wanted to keep me in do some tests etc as the baby was already being monitored for being small.
so alot of the tests wete ok ie pre eclampsia uti etc so they sent me for a scan yesterday afternoon it showed the babies growth rate had dropped again and there was resistance in my placenta. two registras looked over my results back at the ward one wanted to give me steroid injections keep me in and look at delivering the baby early the other said he wanted to give the baby a bit more time because although its growing very little some growth is somthing so they have decided to give the baby a chance so I have a scan again next wednesday if its the same then they will see how far they can get me if any worse then.steroids and c section!!!!
they have said I was allowed to go home on the agrerment I rest and keep an eye on the babies movments and I must go straight back.if anything dosent seem right!!
so im petrefied the baby will have to be delivered to early!!!
ems xx

I know this is a very worrying time but the best thing you can do is to try and stay calm. I may help to think that sometimes babies have a different plan to us and they are the only ones who chose when they will be born. I know it sounds a bit weird but relax yourself and have a little chat with your baby and ask them to stay in for a while longer. I teach HypnoBirthing and this approach really works.
Also try and see every day that baby stays inside as a bonus day, each day they become stronger.

I know you are scared and worried and it will be hard to relax but you are in a good position as you are being monitored and they are ready to intervene to give your DD the best of care.
My DD as born at 29.4 weeks in the back of an ambulance, with no steroids etc before for lung development and yes it was scary and she was tiny but I now have a happy healthy 2.5 yro who will not stop talking and getting into unimaginable scrapes. Best of luck get DVD's and lie on couch and start telling Baba to listen to Mummy and get bigger and stronger .

Something similar happened to me..DS was small and not growing properly but mine was due to early onset pre-eclampsia. I was brought in at 30 weeks and prepped with the steroid injections for delivery and told the same thing as you. However managed to hold off to 37 weeks when I was finally induced and delivered him naturally although he was only 4lbs. He's a very happy, healthy 4 yr old with a total obession for dinosaurs!

I was tense throughout the whole time and worried sick about having a prem baby. I had to go for endless scans and bloodtests and I and to some extent the dr's never knew when he would have to be delivered and that was the most difficult part.

My heart goes out to you but stay calm, the dr's decision will be whatever is best for the baby if they need to come out early then you'll deal with that.
