Feeling rubbish?

Need a bit of a rant Im only about 10 weeks pregnant have my first midwife appt next week, but im feeling absolutley rubbish. Ive felt sick constantly, boobs have been so sore, i had flu all over christmas and now I have the worst cough ever that hurts all my chest whenever I cough. Is anyone else the same, is this just normal? Or should I make an appt with gp, or just take it easy? Cannot believe how different this pregnancy is Sad

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish.

Im currently 5 weeks with my first DC so Im not even sure what to expect / how I should feel etc, but I can sympathise with you as I feel pants too! My boobs (esp. my nipples!) are really sore, I feel more tired than usual, and I too have had a horrid cold since NYE. I've pretty much spent the last 5 days in bed feeling sorry for myself!
I've also been waking up about 3am every morning just feeling uncomfortable, so broken sleep is not helping me feel any better!

I've been told that the boob soreness and the tiredness is normal and will be pregnancy related, and the cold - well its just that time of year and everyone seems to have a bug of some sort, but the pregnancy is likely to make it feel worse and harder to fight it off.

Advice wise - just the usual take it easy, rest if you can, lots of fruit & veg, etc. Though if you are really worried, then a trip to the GP wont harm.
Also, easier said than done, but try to be positive and think that all this crapness is due to your baby so it will be worth it in the long run!! (difficult I know!!)

Hope you start to feel better soon! Smile

I felt really rubbish in the way you describe up until about 12/13 weeks. It does pass for the majority of people!

Elsathelion · 17/01/2012 11:09

Sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish. Like Miko I felt supremely crappy until just past 12 weeks and then I started being able to sleep better and the overall soreness went away.

I am 23 weeks now and had a chest infection over Christmas but found that short steamy showers helped ... As did drinking ginger tea in front of the telly insisting DH looked after me while taking it easy so I could nap when I was able to helped. Generally I am trying not take any pain killers but I did resort to a few late night doses of paracetemol to get a few good hours of respite from the coughing pain and that really helped.

Hang in there, it will get better!

Sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish... I am also 10 weeks and been feeling so sick all day for 6 weeks already!! Seems to be less controllable (ie. just keep eating) than with DS1. But it's nausea sick, not the flu type. Perhaps you should see the GP about your cough if it feels like it is on your chest? Join us on the Due in August part 2 thread :)

Im hoping it will pass soon as cant wait to feel normal again, Ive just been drinking plenty of water and having my pregnacare vitamins so will just see how it goes as tried to get dr appt but isnt any Hmm typical.
I have been looking on the due in Aug thread but didnt know wether to join Blush as i dont know my due date yet, still waiting for midwife appt aswell but mabye ill just join I must be due around Aug/July anyway. :)

Hopefully all this sickness, soreness, illness must mean babys doing fine :)

Yes do! :) Can add due date later. Just thinking, suggest not having vitamins on an empty stomach - that always makes me feel worse.
