Non frumpy maternity clothes for a non-skinny mummy

Currently in the 2nd trimester, have a 14 month old ds and I am so sick of feeling frumpy! Can anybody help find some good quality maternity clothes that aren't completely frumpy or designed for those who can still wear skinny jeans in pregnancy:) I'm 5'3" and a size 12-14......

Hello
Am your height and size 14 / 16. have found in both Pregnancies new look to be excellent. Cheap and decent quality for pregnancy. Added bonus is you can also order and have it delivered next day.

Meant order on line!

Seraphine.com is your friend Smile

I had this. Also a 5ft3 size 14...or I was. Large busted, so all the front-frump just looks bloody stupid on me.
Bon Prix ended up supplying my tops, but with the bust, I've not really had to buy new tops as bumpus has just filled the void. Got some jeans from Next...but had to order them in store to come in to try...bloody stupid and I complained a lot, but I wasn't willing to order online due to the apparent right to do a credit check even if not opening an credit account.
Mamas and Papas styles weren't too bad either from memory.
Tescos seemed to have an OK range too.

Isabella Oliver is also really good - more expensive but the clothes are really well cut (I am a size 14).

Love mamas and papas. You can order online and collect in store. The clothes are very generously sized to. Also being a short arse they also so short leg jeans etc

Also like asos. Delivery is mega quick and free returns. But some of the sizing has been a bit odd

Another vote for Isabella Oliver. After asking about wrap dresses on mums net I ordered one from there and it came today. It's too big for me to wear at the minute - but i can tell that it's going to last me right through the pregnancy. It's gorgeous material and has a lovely hang to it.

I really like Next. All of the maternity stuff I got from there in my first pregnancy is now doing me proud again in my third! Plus online at the moment there's loads of maternity stuff in their half price sale.

justhayley · 16/01/2012 23:09

New look has done the job for me, & topshops maternity range!

MiauMau · 16/01/2012 23:16

Another vote for mamas and papas, best fitting jeans ever that I've been able to wear throughout all of my pregnancy :)

trixiefey · 17/01/2012 07:18

H & M, especially for tops, have been brilliant.

thistlemuncher · 17/01/2012 08:07

I got my trousers from Mamas and Papas and my nicest tops from esprit maternity

Thanks everyone, all great ideas. I'll enjoy having a good browse on the web this evening:) Quick question, does anybody have experience on the length of the Isabella Oliver dresses....would they be knee length on somebody of my short height??!

The brand South at online store Very were great - not too expensive and better quality than New Look...

ellesbell · 17/01/2012 20:15

I find the sizing in jojo maman bebe great for those of us who were more curvy pre pregnancy (I am 10-12 top and 12-14 bottom)

ViolaCrayola · 17/01/2012 20:28

I am your exact height and size, and last time found the following to be good:

  • maternity jeans from mother care
  • nice tops and stretchy trousers from JoJo Mama Bebe
  • dresses from dorothy perkins
  • size 20 leggings (in late pregnancy) from Asda! Bit frumpy though Blush

If you can find a second hand maternity clothes shop near you I would highly highly recommend that! You only wear them for a few months - that's where I got all my JoJo Mama stuff.

The Isabella Oliver wrap dress comes about two inches below my knees and I'm 5 2"
