hi there >
im a cornish mummy but not pg. (thankfully Blush)
i have DS 5yrs and DD almost 2.
tis a fantastic place to bring up kids, this morning dd and i went for a run (her in buggy) while ds was at school and it was sooo lovely, i spent the whole time grinning like an idiot and being so glad we lived here.

im sure someone with a bump will be along in a min but i just wanted to say hi. i had DS at treliske (mw care was good but post natal ward yukky) and dd was a homebirth. all the best with your pregnancy and the safe arrival of DC2.

Also a Cornish mum to be here!! :)

Have lived in this part of the world all my life, it's a fantastic place to live and raise children. Am due in July.

ahhhhhpushit · 16/01/2012 18:25

!! Hooray!

Hello both!

DS will be 2 when bump arrives. Been contemplating double buggies... am hoping I can get away without one as DS is a great walker already...

mad what sort of things does your 2yr old do? Do you go to toddler groups etc? I'm very much in awe of your running with the buggy!!!

Alliwant is the 85 after your name your dob?? If so I was 85 too so guess were the same age :)

Hopefully we can keep this thread going! :)

I'm up near Bodmin, but due to drop in 4weeks, hopefully at penrice birth centre (which so far I cannot fault and have only heard good things about), but if your in Truro, treliske makes more sense. Can't wait to bring my baby into the beautiful cornish air. Have you tried a Sept ante-natal club and put a shout out to any Cornish mummies there you might find someone closer to your due date.Smile

AllIWant85 · 16/01/2012 18:45

Yep the 85 is the year I was born! This will be my first DC.

Maybe you could get a single buggy with a buggy board so your 2 yo has that option if he is tired but at the same time you are not having to drag a double buggy around?

mad4 · 16/01/2012 18:50

ahhh dd is mostly a doing nursary or hanging out with mummy kind of a girl.
i work 3 days a week but the time we spend together we do pretty much allsorts. not really a toddler group kind of a gal myself (a bit socially shy) but we are pretty outdoorsy, love the woods, camel trail for bikes etc.

although i guess there will be many more groups and activities the choose from in truro, we are out in the country near padstow.

and remove from your brain any notion of a carefree size 6 mum jogging effortlessly with pristene buggy! replace with 2 stone to lose, red faced, sweaty mum, desperatly trying to pacify daughter to stay in the buggy and control the dog! Blush

eeek 85! but im not too far away.....81 here Smile

Hi Ahhh... I'm preggie in cornwall and due in sept too (on 16th). Also looking to make some mummy friends as we only moved to cornwall a year ago and don't really know many people around us.

Hope all's going well with your bump (and with everyone elses here)

lamby79 · 15/05/2012 20:30

Hello!! Me too. Love the Cornwall thread idea - always feels like we're in another world down here.

Due early June and have two year old DD. Living in village just outside Newquay but don't know many other mum's down these parts as work too much. Looking forward to going on mat leave next week and hopefully will be able to start attending some sort of toddler group. Think DD will go mad at home with me all day as she's used to going to Nursery but won't be able to afford whilst i'm at home!

Wonder if there's many more of us out there?

RattyPatty · 15/05/2012 21:37

Am v up for any baby groups/meetups anyone knows about - or buggy beach walks once c-section all healed...
