Morning Sickness at 24 weeks -Normal??

Hi MNr's

Quick question re morning sickness during early pregnancy I was barely sick at all but all of a sudden at 24 weeks (25 weeks on Sunday I have been suffering with ghastly morning sickness.

Monday, Tuesday and a vast majority of Wednesday it was manageable and then at about 15:00 Wednesday I was vomiting several times an hour. So I finally conceded defeat and came home since then I have been vomiting a few times an hour and have actually been waking in the night because of it. To say I am exhausted is an understatement.

My parents and partner think I should call the MW as it has been going on a few days now but it seems trivial and besides I have an appointment with her the middle of next week. I?m a little concerned as I have lost a few pounds since it all began (which I assume is not good) I Have also noticed that our DS has been a lot more active than usual, then again I would be too if somebody was being so ill.

Is it normal to suddenly get morning sickness at this point in pregnancy and would you call the midwife?

xx

I would call mw but I don't think it's unusual to have ms at any point in pregnancy - I know mine has come
Back in last few weeks with a vengeance (am 38 weeks). If baby is moving and everything else ok (blood pressure etc) that's good but better to check with mw.

Also could be sign of anaemia- know that made a friend really sick til they diagnosed it .

Thanks Gigondas I might give her a call later as I feel pretty silly calling her for what could turn out to be highly normal. Baby doesn't stop moving in fact I think he is slighty hyper at the moment. xx

I would call your midwife if I were you, I am 24 weeks and still being sick but it has died down, if there was a sudden increase I would call my midwife, I don't want to panic you but sudden sickness can be a sign of pre-eclampsia, have you had any other symptoms? I think you should call and ask if you should be concerned, if she says no then it will be a weight off your mind and you can concentrate on looking after yourself, if she is concerned then you can get checked out. Hope that helps and you feel better soon

I'm 28 weeks and still being sick of a morning but I had really bad sickness early on and it has eased to almost nothing now.

There's no harm in calling mw to be on the safe side.

Thanks Ladies. I am going to call my MW after lunch ( I am hoping that I will not be ill afterwards) I am fed up of feeling so utterly beastly. xx
