CVS results waiting - help

I had a CVS on wed with Prof Nicolaides at the FMC in london. This was following a high risk for Downs 1:91, due to high nuchal, low Papp a and a reverse flow in the ductous venousus (heart problem). I'm 32 - soon to be 33.
I was told the results would be here on friday, but I didn't ask what time and I'm now in bits waiting for the phone to ring.
Has anyone had a CVS done here before? If so, when did you hear? Thank so much

Hi blue22
I had the same test, by the same person (wasn't he great?!) at the same place.
My odds weren't awful, but they weren't brilliant either.

Waiting is horrible - I really feel for you - but if they told you you'd hear on Friday (as they did with me) then you will hear. My call came through at about 6pm (I called at 4pm to check it wasn't my phone - of course it wasn't!). I ran and got into a bath to tempt the call in and BINGO.... 2 minutes after sitting in it.

They just have to wait for the lab results to be returned so could never give me a fixed time but I would expect them in the late afternoon/early evening if I were you. Will you have anyone with you? Even with good news, I felt a bit lonely....best to have someone on standby you can call on if you need it..I wish I had but you may not feel like it.

Are you at work or is there a way you can distract yourself somehow to try and make the day go quicker. I'd taken the day off and went for coffee with someone who didn't know I was pregnant (was planning on telling them that day, but of course didn't because I didn't know what was going on with the results) and it really really helped pretending I wasnt waiting for anything momentous. Perhaps that is burying head in sand but it helped me deal with the anxiety.

Yes he was fantastic, I'm so glad I went there even though it was so pricey.
I'm not at work today - at home with my 2 year old, so she's keeping me busy and it's nice to be with her - I"m probably being a super indulgent mummy today as I"m just so grateful to have her.
Good to know it could be as late as early evening - I've been expecting it earlier than that so will try to prepare for more hours waiting.
DP is at home with me today, so I'm lucky to have my family around me. Thanks for answering me.

I had a CVS with the Prof at the FMC around this time last year. I also had it done on a Weds (last patient at 9.30pm) and was told that we would get the results on Friday ... come Friday night the lovely lady at reception called to tell us that we would have to wait until Monday as results weren't ready.
Eventually got the call on Monday at around lunch time.

Your odds are much better than ours were (1:6) but all did turn out well.
Fingers crossed for you Smile

I was the last patient at 9.30pm too!! So I'll brace myself for not hearing till monday - though I don't know how I'll get through the weekend!
