I am currently pg with number 3. I haven't found out which sex I am having. I didn't with my DD or DS either. I like the surprise and the guessing.

So........I was wondering if there was similarities/differences in your pg's if you had the same sex or different sexes.

With DD, I had a small bit of brown spotting before I found out I was pg, had extremely bad spots on my face, had a linea nigra from about 20 weeks, was neat and couldn't tell I was pg from the back.

With DS, I had 3 episodes of light bleeding at 6, 8 and 10 weeks and pink spotting at about 24 weeks, had spots but definitely not as bad as the first time, had no linea nigra until after birth, was still neat and up front but got love handles.

This time, I had brown spotting early on but nothing since, spots are around but not as bad as my 1st pg, no linea nigra yet (27 weeks), up front and neat again but love handles (although to be fair, they never went after DS so could just be getting worse). I thought I saw boys bits on the scan but didn't know where abouts she was looking at the time and how likely it is for us to recognise bits when they aren't particularly searching for them.

I am positive its a boy, to the point where I am referring to the baby as he, looking at boy baby clothes and only discussing boys names. DH thinks it is a girl but as I keep telling him. I should know, I have had 2 already.

So what do you think, should I know or are all the above just a load of rubbish and old wives tales. Guessing is the fun bit.

xxx

I'm 15 weeks with number 3 and have two boys already. Felt worse morning sickness with DS2 than DS1, but had a very neat 'all out front' bump both times. This time I'm much more bloated than with either of the boys and my skin is terrible. But this could just be because I'm not as active now? I am absolutely rubbish at predicting gender, and not sure yet if we'll find out the scan this time (we didn't with either of the boys). Will you find out or enjoy guessing til the end?

Summerblaze · 13/01/2012 09:27

I don't like to find out as I like the surprise in the delivery room. That said, I actually don't like secrets and not knowing them but always stay strong so that I can still be surprised til the end.

I am a bit rubbish at guessing the gender of my own DC. I thought DD was a boy and DS was a girl. I am just thinking this time, that I might have more of a clue on what my body is doing.

Two completely different pregnancies for me, was convinced each time it was a boy.......I have two girls.

Have also chosen not to find out with this one - different once again, much harder this time. I started out expecting it to be a girl, but am not so sure now.

Drives me mad throughout the pregnancy but am always pleased at the end that we didn't find out - I do like that surprise!

Congrats by the way - at least not too long to wait.

Congratulations to you also, Lacking.

In what way were the pg's different.????

I already have a boy and a girl, and am having another boy. Dd was my first and the morning sickness was terrible, I didn't keep anything down for months. When this didn't happen in my second pregnancy, I guessed (correctly) that I was carrying a boy. This time too the morning sicness was nowhere near as bad and again correctly guessed boy. The one thing that has been true for severla people I know is how much their face changes when they are pregnant with girls. In the pictures of me pregnant with dd my nose looks like it takes up most of my face, it looked liek it had spread, and this happened to lots of people I know. No idea why that should be though.

I have 3, girl, boy, boy, was convinced ds2 was a girl, pregnancy was identical to dd's, I didn't believe doc when he told me, I was really small and neat had loads of energy, just like I was with dd, with ds1 I was huge, tired and cranky, you can never tell.....enjoy guessing

kellzi · 13/01/2012 16:02

all i can say is that i sucked lemons, smelt bleaches and favoured pickle onion monster munch with girl and got very round

ate savoury food, very neat bump, cant remember much more, how terrible is that.
but no sickness with any of them, and none this time so far!!!!

saladfingers · 13/01/2012 16:22

I have 2 DDs and 2DSs. The first two (girl) pregnancies were identical to each other, When I became pregnant with DS1 I was terrified something must be wrong as I felt so different.Turns out both my boy pregnancies were identical to each other also.
Both my DDs were born at 4.03am
Both my DSs were born at 02.57am

saladfingers · 13/01/2012 16:23

both my DSs had heart rate of around 140 at every antenatal visit

Cutelittlecatlover · 13/01/2012 16:50

With ds I had the easiest pregnancy! Apart from very mild ms early on and heartburn from 35 weeks I felt great and had loads of energy. This time I am having a dd and feel huge, uncomfortable and tired all the time. I had really bad sickness until 16 weeks this time and heartburn started really early too. My bump is low and all out front and low exactly like it was with ds but much bigger! I've had lots of really weird cravings this time too.

EsmeWeatherwax · 13/01/2012 18:04

I was as sick as a dog whilst pg with dd's 1&2, haven't been sick at all this time, had totally oversensitive sense of smell with the girls too, that again, I haven't had this time. Craved milk constantly with the girls, and tomatoes, this time, nothing.

OTOH, was really mobile to the end with both dd's this time, I'm basically fixed to a chair as I have such bad spd, and have developed diabetes too. This one is a boy.

Hi Summer,

From what I remember....

DD1 I had some morning sickness, one weekend of extreme tiredness (DH's birthday, poor soul), very neat out front bump and, apart from not being able to face any food other than stodge for the first 12 weeks (mainly jacket spuds), was able to pretty much eat as normal. Also had linea negra and chloasma on face.

DD2, no morning sickness, absolutely soul-destroyingly exhausted for the first 12 weeks (not just DD1's fault, I think Grin), huge bump (in fairness, she was 1lb 5 oz heavier) and couldn't get enough sweet stuff for most of the 40 weeks. No linea negra, no chloasma - DD2 a Dec baby, DD1 October, so don't think that was down to time of year - if anything, I'd have expected pigmentation with DD2 rather than DD1 as I was outside more.

So, we shall see what happens this time - felt shocking until about 14 weeks, not just tired but unable to face food (although not actually sick) - very into sweet stuff yet again - but smaller bump, more DD1 size. Am guessing another girl but will quite possibly be wrong yet again!
