Did they tell you what they think might have caused it (obviously, could also quite easily be nothing)? And what they are going to do next?
How far along are you?

And no, there is probably no need for crying at this poing tbh.

diedandgone to north or south? may do the same one day. well it was the registrar at the docs and she said it was probably diabetes which shitted me up quite badly, anyway since spoken to mw who laughed and asked me what I had eaten yesterday, and also read up and it seems quite normal to have this every now and then so stopped blubbing - poor dp couldn't understand a word of my woes on the phone! anyway having fasting bloods next week and will just eat well (no more crumpets and white stuff for me!).

The not so sunny south coast Grin

It's a good start that they are sending you for the GTT. Even if does turn out to be gestational diabetes, it can be effectively controlled and in most cases will go away after the birth.
It is scary but it's so much better that they pick these things up and treat them.

+Proteine is not bad. It happens all the time in pregnancy for various reason, contaminated sample etc. Remember it goes up to +++++. They generally don't worry about a single +.

I don't know about the Glucose + though.

nothing to worry about, unless your midwife if concerned.

i went to the maternity triage unit with problems they asked for a urine sample and they found protine, glucose and (i call it lucozade but it just sounds like it!! :o)

the protine was just from excess discharge (they sent it off incase it was an infection), the [lucozade] was because the next day i came down with a cold and finally the glucose was because they asked me to have a big drink of very cold fluid as i hadnt felt the baby move, then to come in. the hospital is a 45 minute drive away and we needed to drop dd off with a friend which added another 30 minutes on to the journey and i didnt want to wait incase there was a problem so i grabbed the nearest very cold drink, which was a 2ltr bottle of fanta and drank most of it on the way there Blush. it was all the sugar in the fizzy drink.

so nothing to overly panic about, it can be an indicator of gd, but not unless its reoccuring.
