You are not supposed to do anything that raises your temperature too much to be honest, so hot baths would fall into the category. I used to have nice toasty soaks too but have made a conscious effort since falling pg to cool them down...............and dp has a right go at me if I make it too hot still!

You get used to it in the end promise!

I like my baths scalding too, so I asked my midwife when I was pregnant. She said that generally it's not advised because of the possible (although not proven) effects that the hot water could have on the blood flow through the placenta, and the fact that you could overheat the baby. It's also possible that if the water is too hot it could make you feel faint or pass out as it can lower your blood pressure very quickly.

I have nice hot baths - not scalding but hot enough to linger for 3/4 b4 it's cold only started doing it after 24 weeks I think if I remnber rightly, b4 that it was a luke warm one - not v nice.

(I don't use bubblebath any more in there either - tbh i've found the bump's nice and quietly sleepin when I'm in there - moans about me gettin out and starts kickin again! lol)

I used to have warm baths, but dont like them too hot anyway. Isnt it lovely how they come alive in the bath! Ds used to really wriggle around!

Every night I had a hot bath while I was pregnant. It was a wonderful way of relaxing. My baby was 12 days overdue so obviously the hot bath didn't bother her. My midwife was very happy for me to take hot baths as long as I was careful getting in and out. So my husband helped me in my last month. I do recommend taking bath, as now it is more difficult to relax for an hour or so without hearing my little one crying!!!

I had hot baths throughout both of my pregnancies with no problems, it really was the only time I could relax fully! I think I had them slightly less hot than usual, which in my case was still hot!
