DC4 is very quiet/shy/hiding. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

I'm 18 weeks with DC4 and movements are still very slight, just the odd bubble here and there. I really thought I'd be getting something a bit more substantial by now. His movements have not reduced, the just havent increased at all, and I still really only feel him in the evening a couple of times. I got two proper pokes the other day but thats it Sad.

So please come tell me that I'm not the only one despite being (supposedly) an experienced mum to be.

This is dc4 for me and I felt all my babies early, including the first - definite movement at 14 weeks with her.

However, this little one has only really made himself properly known the last week and a half, maybe two weeks... I'll be 22 weeks tomorrow.

I assumed it was an anterior placenta masking his movement and lo, at my 20(21) week scan it was confirmed.

So, you've either got a reallllly laid back one or an anterior placenta (or a little of both!)

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 10/01/2012 21:57

I had wondered about anterior placenta. But IIRC I had one with DC3 and I'm sure his movements were a little stronger by now. Or maybe my memory is playing tricks on me Confused.

I won't complain at the laid back bit though-as long as it lasts through his babyhood Grin.

Ooh I've been worrying a bit about this too, am almost 15 weeks with DC3 and was hoping to feel obvious movement now although I know it's still very early. I felt DS1 regularly from 17/18 weeks and DS2 from 15 weeks. But I am worrying about everything much more this time round! Hope the babies get more active asap and put our minds at ease.

Flisspaps · 10/01/2012 22:35

At 18w with this one (DC2) I wasn't getting much - the popcorn popping and the odd poke but nothing much.

Now 26w and it looks and feels as though it's trying to climb out through the sunroof Hmm

BobbysBeardOfWonder · 10/01/2012 22:46

I'm 22 weeks with DC2 and have anterior placenta so still only feeling a few flutterings & vague kicks. Is weird as last time I felt DD at 18 weeks and from then on it was kickboxing practice all day. Grin

I'm happy as long as I can feel a few movements at night in bed.

I was my mum's DC1 and she always told me that throughout all of the pregnancy she only felt little mouse like movements and even that was very rare. My sister was the extreme opposite.
I was hoping for something in between for DS but, he has decided that he enjoys kicking my insides a bit too much.

stripeyZ · 11/01/2012 10:55

I felt flutters from 13 weeks but no proper kicks until 23 weeks. Even then it was occasionally at first. I have an anterior placenta too. 28 weeks now & can feel him all the time Smile

Hello, i was exactly the same. Had felt the others very early but with this one (number 4) I didn't feel proper movements until at least 20 weeks. I'm now 39 weeks and movements are almost painfu they are so powerful!
