Red belly that is hot (warm) to the touch?

Er, is this a normal symptom of pregnancy? I've just noticed this over the last few nights and it happened again about 10 minutes ago. All of a sudden my belly becomes visibly red (as if I had been sitting in a hot bath) and heats up, then after a few mins it calms down again.

How far along are you? I have never personally experienced it but it sounds unusual. Why not call the hospital and ask their opinion.

I'm 25 weeks. Wondering if it could it be increased blood flow because my skin is stretching? Can't really find anything on t'internet, which is unusual....

Hi,

I get this quite often, I'm 24weeks and 2 days.

xx

Not finding anything on the internet may be a good thing though....i always manage to find worst case scenario when i google stuff....i did know somebody who had a red tummy post birth....with her it was an infection caused by a bit of retained placenta....but at 25 weeks that sounds unlikely in my completely unprofessional opinion...i think i would call the hospital to just check, and to put your mind at ease...there is usually a midwife to talk to on the labour ward i would think out of hours.

Oh jings! I suppose I really should call to be on safe side. Feel a bit of a tool because it's gone now.....
