Having a down day today (found out this morning that I didn't get a temp job I applied for- was made redundant over Christmas), so I'm thinking about holidays to cheer me up.

I'm due at the end of May and now I know that it's highly unlikely I'll have a job between now and then, I'd like to plan a holiday.

We aren't particularly restricted by budget, but I want to be sensible giving impending arrival.

Do any of you ladies have any recommendations or ideas of where and when to go?

At around 20 weeks me n dh got a cottage in north Devon that was part of a spa complex. Was lovely. Did lots of walks with the dog (hills and beaches). Plenty of cream teas. Had some treatments at the spa. Our cottage had it's own hot tub so few dips in there and generally chilled out

DH and I are expecting our first so know that our holidays going forward won't be the same as the ones over the last few years! Therefore we basically re-doing some of our recent favourites but with some tweaks so it doesn't get boring. So there will be a long weekend in the Cotswolds (lots of walks) and a week in Italy (lots of good food). DH is also keen to go to the Maldives (he wanted to honeymoon there but I overruled) so we have a week there booked. So much to squeeze in before our lives are ruined and we can never go anywhere again! Grin

Mellie- cottage sounds like a good idea. Can you recommend any websites to book through?

Karma- you seem to have all your holidays sorted. Well done! When are you due? And where in Italy?

How soon are you thinking of going? The later you go, the more uncomfortable travelling might be (or at least it was for me). Based on this we decided to stay within an hours drivetime. We also decided on the swankiest hotel we could afford for one night, rather than a few nights of just fine - it's fair to say we've not done swanky hotels since then, so it was a real treat

We live for holidays so sorting that was our priority when we got the BFP!! Not due till July so still time to squeeze lots in...

Italy will probably be Venice for a few days and then somewhere by the beach or with a pool. DH likes holidays where you sit in the sun and do nothing but I go insane with boredom and like quite active holidays so will be a compromise between the two. Smile

Oh yes Zuleika agreed, we are definitely splashing out on good hotels as much as we can!

Hi! We're off to Dubai in February, I will be 20 weeks then and so it will probably be about the last time I can get away with flying in relative comfort. It's also a lovely time of year to go as it will be early/mid 20's which will be lovely - can't wait to see some sun! X
