There's never a good time. Even if you plan it to be at the right time, seems there are always a million reasons why it is a bad time. Just one of those things, I guess!

It was DP's idea to have a baby. He's younger than me so, trying not to pressure him too much last year during a really nice long talk, I decided to give him a 2 year deadline for us to talk again about babies. However, he was somehow inspired by my sister's pregnancy and said that he felt ready, which I thought was really sweet.
What I wasn't expecting was to get pregnant so quickly!! Confused In my mind I though "Well, I'm 34 and a bit overweight." and in my mind after reading all kinds of articles saying that it could take about a year to conceive, you can imagine my utter amazement when I found out that I got pregnant at our very first try!
I was really happy when I found that I was pregnant and a bit overwhelmed, and when I eventually told at work I found out about the professional consequences, I lost the opportunity to be lead for the first time (and on a really cool project) and was going to be made senior this year. Oh well, I'll get there eventually, I am very lucky at work as they have been very supportive and said that those opportunities will still be there waiting for me.

But, saying all of this, at the end of the day I look down at my bump and feel utterly joyful and lucky :)
