Getting married at 28 weeks?

My DP and I have been having conversations about getting married before baby arrives for a number of reasons. We should have got on and done it ages ago really but he's in the Army and there has always been something happening and time has just gone on! DP is due to go to Afghanistan in April so we are thinking of getting married before he deploys, has anyone else got married while being around 28 weeks or

... Or planning to? The most important thing for me is to marry DP as I love him to bits, not to have a massive extravagant bash (which we wouldn't have anyway if I wasn't pg).

I was about 16 weeks (with DS1) when I married DH, that was okay luckily, but cut it a bit fine with the morning sickness.

I'm 28 weeks with DS2 now. Could definitely do a wedding now. However at 28w with DS1 I was in hospital...

On a related subject, I am going to be my sisters bridesmaid at 38+2 this time...

I got married at about 26 weeks. Perfectly doable and lovely.

We're also considering marrying before the baby arrives, and given complicated circumstances, I will be at least 35 or 36 weeks by the first opportunity we will have to do it, though. But it will be a 'grab witnesses from the street' jeans-wearing wedding, anyway, so no pomp and circumstance or frocks.

I'm also getting married, in April, when I will be 31 weeks. having just a few close friends and family and then going back to my mums house for a bit of a party!

I am looking for a nice frock but not having much luck at the moment....

My first marriage was at 26weeks. I was a whale with that pregnancy though - my ex MIL felt the need to tell me at the drinks reception....I can hear her distant tones in my head now...."You must be so tired, you look just like a beached whale in that dress..."

Ah the memories... Grin

I got married at 28 weeks in December. :) I wore a regular dress empire line cut. Marched around in 6" heels too! Grin I had a couple of glasses of champagne but my husband doesn't drink, neither do our guests - so there you go - the only person drinking was the pregnant one!

emblosion I got my from seraphine. This isn't it, but it's quite similar :)

Emblosion, I attended a wedding over Christmas and the pregnant (28weeks) bride wore this dress. She is around a size 14 (pre baby) and looked stunning!

Her 'boquet' was also made of antique brooches... many from charity shops but a few from family too.

Thanks for the dress suggestions, LOVE the Tiffany Rose collection especially although they are a bit pricey, I do like the arm coverage on the one you linked to OhtheConfusion ..... Do they have shops or are they online only (will have a proper look later as am on my phone at the mo) [:)]

AlpinePony · 10/01/2012 11:56

I was looking at a Tiffany rose on eBay which eventually went for 43 quid, bargain!

Hi, friend got hers when she was in London from 'the maternity co' in Chiswick. The shop is just off the A4 and about 15min outside the city centre. Although I think they had to order the dress in for her.

Im sure they must have other stockists nationwide too. Good luck.

Thanks :)
Ebay is a good thought also....
