Hi all, wonder if u could help me with a couple of things please... First time mum to be and slightly clueless!

  1. I've got the basics of how to top and tail and bathe the baby... But when do u first do this and how often?
  1. We've been told our baby could be early but I could go full term! So, which baby clothes do I pack? I've bought for hospital bag, 3 x sleepsuits, 3 x vests, 1 x Cardigan and hats & mits in 3 different sizes, up to 5lbs, up to 7.8lbs and up to 10/11lbs... Shall I pack it all, do people do this? Have I been a complete spud and bought too much?
  1. I'm 31 weeks and have a scan tomorrow and another 1 in 4 weeks time, will they be able to tell if baby is back to back from this? If she is, is this going to make things more complicated or difficult? Or just more painful!?!

Thanks... I'm sure there are loads more
questions I have, just can't think of them right now! x

Pack the bag now with the small stuff in it, when you get to 38 weeks change the tiny stuff for the next size up stuff etc :-)

You make it sound so logical...! Grin I'll blame being pregnant and stressful job on not thinking of that.Blush

I had a back to back birth but it was only identified when I had gone into labour. If they're scanning twice before you give birth, then you'll have quite a good idea of how she's lying I should think. But remember, they can move at the last minute.
In terms of whether it's more complicated or not - it really depends. Mine was complicated, but I also know a friend who has had 2 back to back births and both were relatively quick and intervention free. It's the luck of the draw!

I've packed the new born size but have a pile of tiny baby and a pile of up to 10lbs all ready for DP to just lift and bring.

From what i've heard a few hours after babys born DP will be sent home for some rest and so we can get some so i figure that a few hours in a bigger size won't hurt and he can bring stuff when he comes back

As far as topping / tailing goes; I just bathed him daily, from the start, and cleaned specific areas when dirty! Get the mw's to do it in hospital to show you how then just continue at home.

My dd was back to back and I was told that it would make things harder but i dont think that it did!
And if you take loads of things with you and don't use them, so what? Better to be prepared and have too much!!
