Wondering if it was not a period

I am wide awake as a little concerned about the possibility that I maybe pregnant.

My period was a few days late this month and then for three days I had the odd brown stringy discharge (sorry yucky details), my period finally started and was quite heavy for one whole day, next day very very light and third day- nothing!

I know you can have an implantation bleed but its not normally like a period, plus my period on that one day was red like fresh blood.

Very strange though and wondered if thats normal, can you just have a weird one like that or is it to do with age, I'm nearly 34 so do they start to change and get lighter or could I be pregnant?

We do not use contraception and just do the rhythm method which has worked for 9 years and we conceived our children when we planned. I can't stop thinking about it since this evening as I came home early from a night out as I was not up for drinking. Unlike me, over xmas I was over indulging.

Anyway I am probably over thinking and its highly unlikely I am.

Guess I'm just speaking out loud. Now this is the moment when you wished you had not given away that spare pregnanct test!

That sounds exactly like my experience when we found out I was pregnant with my daughter. When we went for the scan I was a month further on than expected, the bleeding was exactly as you described. The only way to find out is to test, probably in a few days. I hope you get the result you want.

I had something very similar! My 'period' came at one of the times I expected it to (cycles hadn't quite returned to normal after coming off of the pill, so had a few potential dates). However, it definitely wasn't right - much lighter, a lot less painful, and a lot shorter. When I felt utterly rubbish and really not myself about a week later, I thought it wise to test just in case before heading to the doctors - and there was my positive result.

Same as me, I came on on holiday and was cursing about the swimming pool, but then it got lighter the next day and stopped properly.

I was I actually thought 'omg is this menopause?' all concerned because we were going to start ttc the NEXT month.

By end of holiday I had sore boobs and did a test a week later and got BFP!
Midwife said it was an implantation bleed

Just now went to toilet and when I wiped myself there was some fresh red blood?

So I did not bleed Fri night, all day Saturday, Saturday night and just now Sunday lunch time a bit of blood on tissue. This is strange and if I were pregnant would it stop and suddenly more come? But strange. I've also had zero pains but I am incredibly moody.

I have wasted SO much money on tests that I can not bear to do it again unless I buy a cheapie so I'm going to see how it goes over the next few days.

I will say my partner will not be happy but if you "do the do" then this can happen. He loves babies and would soften up. I will not think about that for now anyway.

I don't feel pregnant, the other times I always had a feeling something was different but then I was trying.

seems like my period has started again just very light so i guess i am just having a very strange sporadic period, three days stringy brown show, one day heavy, one day light, one day nothing and one day light.

so it started again light yesterday, stopped last night and nothing today. periods stopping and starting natural? not happened to me before?
