Of all the things to crave - I am craving mussels, is it safe to eat in pregnancy, I am 9+5 weeks.

no no no no - not safe to eat ANY kind of shell fish!

yes you can eat shellfish as along as its well cooked.

you cant eat any raw fish.

its says so in all my pregnancy books but i would only eat shellfish if i have cooked it myself to make sure its well done.

According to my MW - yes. The advice has changed since I was pg with ds (22m now). Hope so, as I had some last night

I think it's fine, as long as you're careful about the source. You don't really want food poisoning etc.

I craved sea food in all my pg's (and even now lol).
Just make sure after they're cooked to throw away any one's that are either tightly shut or only partly open (mean they're not fresh). Just make sure they're all open wide! Have fun x
