Preparing to breastfeed with diabetes and PCOS

I wasn't able to breastfeed DD. She was given formula for 3 days in the SCBU as her blood sugar was low. She wouldn't latch on and my milk didn't come in till day 5 anyway, by which time I'd been put on non-BF friendly blood pressure medication by a very unhelpful GP.

I'd like to try again with DS next month. He'll probably be in the SCBU as well, they'll probably want to give him formula and he'll probably end up on a glucose drip as well, like DD.

I have diabetes and PCOS, which can both contribute to low supply.

I'm on BP meds at the moment which will be fine for BF so that won't be a problem again.

Has anyone any advice about this?
