The job I have always wanted has just come up. One permanent and two.. wait for it.. mat leave covers. Perfect opportunity to be located where I want to be and doing what I want to do, and especially perfect as my own job is at risk.

Of course, unluckily for me, job interview would be when I was 22 weeks pregnant and given that they are seeking mat leave cover, I am clearly not appropriate.

apply anyway - you have nothing to lose and you might even get the permanent one. they're not going to give you the covers obviously but they are not allowed not to give you the permanent one on solely on the basis you are pregnant.
