Hi,

I'm new on MumsNet and pg with my first child I am about 11-12 weeks in and about to go for my first scan, which I can not wait to get over and done with. Just want to know that the baby is ok. Was hoping to find someone to chat with who's about at my stage? Im in Wakefield, West Yorkshire and my hospital is Pinderfields, anyone close by had a baby in this hospital?

:)

Hey beth, I'm at a similar-ish stage - 12 week scan next Friday (Friday the 13th - yuck!), though actually I think I'm only going to be just coming up to 11 weeks by then - long story about my dating confusion. Absolutely cannot wait for the scan and the relief it will hopefully bring, and feeling like I've not got to keep reminding myself it's risky/early days anymore, and also being able to actually tell people etc.

Anyway, there are two groups on here for people with August due dates - one on this 'pregnancy' thread and another in the 'ante-natal' thread...

hi! i'm 10 weeks... can you guys let me know, how far in advance of your scans were you given the date of the appointment? i've still heard NOTHING from anyone about any antenatal appointments and am worried because i saw the doc at 6 weeks and the request for appointments took 2 weeks to even be lodged. convinced their tardiness and the holidays are going to result in no appointment and my scan being very late... :/

congrats x

I had my 12 week scan yesterday. They were very late giving me an appointment. Still didnt have a date the week before christmas so I rang and told them I was out of country from the 6th - hence scan on 5th! Phone and nag.

puzzletree · 06/01/2012 16:08

Congratulations! Are you due in July? I'm on the July antenatal thread (in antenatal clubs section) and in Leeds so not far from you, not sure if there are any Wakefield mums on the thread but come join in and ask.

puzzletree · 06/01/2012 16:09

ps hope the scan goes well x

Firsttimemum36 · 06/01/2012 21:24

Me! I'm just over 12 weeks, due 19 July. I had my scan just before Christmas as I thought I was 2.5 weeks further ahead than I turned out to be - irregular cycles! The little one was very little on the scan but the consultant said he/she looked fine for 9.5 weeks.

mrsmamma · 06/01/2012 21:42

I'm 11 weeks today and 12 weeks on friday 13th! I'm still waiting for my scan going to chase Monday but I did have a private one at 9 weeks and all is good x

Peasandyoghurt · 07/01/2012 12:11

Firsttime, did the NHS give you a second '12 week' scan because your first one was too early, or has it just been left at that? I only ask because mine is next Fri and I think I'll probably be only 10 weeks then - I was hoping they'd get me to come back at 12 weeks, but maybe not... ?

Firsttimemum36 · 07/01/2012 15:39

I'm having a second scan on Tuesday as part of the nuchal test as it was too early to do that at the first scan.

beth2440 · 16/01/2012 13:08

Firsttimemum - I'm due on the 19th July too I'm currently 13+4, I thought that the date they gave me was quite early but I guess they no best.

Puzzletree - I'm 13+4 now due 19th July and it is very very very nice not to be at the high risk end anymore it can make you very paranoid. I'll check that thread out. What hospital are you booked in at LGI? I have many friends and family members who gave birth there. :)

beth2440 Glad the scan went well. I'm hoping for a homebirth again as I had one with DS2 and it was lovely, but otherwise I will be at the LGI. Had DS1 there and am enjoying the current series of One Born Every Minute filmed there, are your friends/family watching it too? :)

And yes do come and join us on the July antenatal thread, it's busy but everyone is lovely, just jump in with whatever you want to say!
