Hiccups or kicking?

I am 23 weeks and am feeling more and more movements from the bump but wanted to know how you generally differentiate from mini kicks and hiccups? Is it obvious when you feel one over the other? Do they feel different? Does one start later than the other? Thanks in advance for any help - I am very intrigued to decode the goings on in my tummy!! :)

Hiccups are a rhythmic feeling and each 'kick' feels the same IME (a bit like when you will have hiccups). Kicking is more distinct and becomes increasingly uncomfortable as the pregnancy progresses. DC2 hiccuped ALL the time. Am yet to feel DC3 have hiccups (am 34 weeks!), however the kicking is endless!

Thanks CBC :)

Will use that as a guide to refer to next time!

I suspect you have a great recipe for CBC?! Digestives? Butter? Golden Syrup? Cocoa? ;)

i didn't get hiccups till 29/30 weeks but there is a distinct difference from kicks. With a kick it would be just the one and VERY definate and harder. With hiccups it lasts like 20-30 seconds and it has a rhythm and is constant. It's alot softer too. Almost like someone tapping a beat in my tummy with just their fingertip.
