... for all the bad things I ate and did over the Festive Season:

the chicken liver pate was delicious
the champagne was truly bubbly
the rare steak was marvelous
the runny eggs were devine
the smoked salmon was worth it
and my poorly cat is grateful I nursed him (at arms length)

For all these things I am truly, well a little bit sorry. I promise to be good in my last trimester! Xmas Grin

The brie was fab and I'm not even sorry. Pah.

BellaCB · 04/01/2012 18:08

The pate and champagne were awesome. Have also had poorly cooked paoched eggs... Wink

melliebobs · 04/01/2012 18:12

Yup the hot orange an amerretto after a walk in the park and the glass of Rose on Xmas day was divine!!!

Oeisha · 04/01/2012 18:19

Errr, why was it "bad" to nurse a poorly cat? Unless you mean literal breast feeding...in which case Hmm lol.

I have also submitted to runny yolks. Figured they were all lion marked eggs, so I'll be fine.

TheBreadstick · 05/01/2012 09:54

I'm not sure why it's bad to be around poorly cats but that purple book the midwife gave me said to avoid cat faeces and poorly cats. As house trained as my moggy is, he certainly wasn't going to start administering his own eye drops and flu tablets ... ho hum!

lol at breast feeding feeding him! Grin

Definitely too much food, far far too much food. After Christmas Eve dinner I felt like I was going to explode!
Apart from that I managed to stay off of most nasties... except sea food... coff, coff...

Oeisha · 05/01/2012 12:55

MW is, as usual misinformed about cats. Very unlikely to hae toxo or anything else that could pass to you. So long as you're not snogging you cat, or eating his poo, there's basically no risk... The benifits of owning a cat include being able to have a non-judgemental companion to talk to (well, mostly...some of those looks) and people that routinely snuggle furbabies tend to have a happier, healthier outlook on life and a lower BP. Oh, and if they're like mine, they're insisting I get lots of rest at the moment. Enforced snuggles under the duvet are had. Can't say I mind at 38wks!
So long as you washed you hands between after administering the meds, getting someone else to clean his tray if poss, and if not, then using gloves and bleach and not gettinng dust everywhere (if this is happening, use a generous water spritz over the tray first, dampens it down loads) there's no risk to you/baby.

Maybe I should be adding "a lack of exercise" to me list of guilts...

Finally, some non-anal pregnant women! Grin

I too partook in brie and champers...and pate...and runny eggs over the festive period and actually I can't promise that I'll be good in my last trimester Shock

MiauMau · 05/01/2012 14:09

It's impossible to be anal around Christmas! Everyone slips and the ones that say that they didn't are lying :o

WinterMymble · 05/01/2012 14:17

I like this thread. And besides, all the books say that if you're happy, the bub is too.

In Tove Janssen's Moomin books, Moominmamma famously declares that 'Things that make you happy are always good for you'. We could elevate her to Heidi Murkoff status. :)

AnEcumenicalMatter · 05/01/2012 14:24

I enjoyed every bite of the goats cheese ladened calzone.

The runny poached eggs went down a treat too.

And I haven't a clue if all the yummy cheese on the cheese board was considered 'safe'. I figured I did well to avoid the blue cheese and the Brie.

we'll not talk about the heavy handed pouring of amaretto in the boxing day tiramisu

VikingLady · 05/01/2012 15:13

The prawn cocktail was great, and the fizz with breakfast was fab, so am having some trouble repenting...

Oeisha · 05/01/2012 16:23

Moominmamma for POTUS??? Can't see her being a Tea Party regular, and I kinda like Obama.

WinterMymble · 05/01/2012 20:22

Grin - I like Obama too. I agree I can't see Moominmamma being a tea partier. Though she does like tea.

WinterMymble · 06/01/2012 17:46

Is it too late to actually go and EAT some sushi, and then repent?

I could always pretend I slept through the first 4 days of Jan and am starting the repentance late.

pgreen · 06/01/2012 18:25

Love all your style for Rocking Christmas the way it should be. I've just found out I'm pregnant so I also enjoyed all of those (and more) as was blissfully unaware....

WinterMymble · 06/01/2012 19:12

Congrats pgreen! Thanks See you over on the Sept 2012 board then? :)

DeeBeee · 06/01/2012 19:34

Love this thread! Suddenly don't feel so bad about the champers and oodles of goatcheese and several naughty glasses of red. 'Tis January now and trying to be strong!

Yorky · 06/01/2012 20:15

For probably the first time ever - the moral high ground is mine!
I enjoyed my Christmas bubbly, but made bucks fizz cos its got orange juice in and fruit is good for you!!! Grin

Not sure I ate enough grapes and celery with the cheeseboard to use the same excuse twice though Blush
