I only ask as last time the GP (have moved region it may be Midwife this time?) made me feel a bit small for going so early (My period was about 10 days late at that point, had had a positive a couple days before).
So I'm two days late, tested this morning -BFP and cautiously excited! Any suggestions as to when I should I call my surgery? Don't want to get in to the system too late for 1st scan etc. assuming all goes well.

Thanks!

Congrats! 8 weeks is the norm where I am, to see GP.

Ring whenever you like :)

I bypassed the GP this time seeing as all they did was fill in a form to send off to the MW anyway. Rang the MW direct, and they took the details from me that they needed and arranged booking-in appointment for me, as well as scan.

Some areas you have to book your own scan after having your booking-in appointment, some areas do it for you, so if you've moved then the system may be completely different where you are now, as you have already suspected!

Everywhere seems to be completely different! I'd give the receptionist a call, explain you're 4 weeks and see what they advise. Congratulations btw!

I am 5 weeks pg, just booked a docs appt for Friday. Better to get in there earlier, there's no harm.

Check what the procedure is first. Here you see the GP first but at my old surgery you just booked in with the midwife at 8+ weeks. Here you see the GP who does nothing at all, updates your notes and tells you to book in with the midwife on your way out. For an 8wk ish appointment. Pointless really but they do like to do it that way.

Congratulations.

Congrats

Congratulations!

I went to see my GP within 2 days of BFP: she had a chat with me about diet/alcochol, gave me some folic acid tablets and filled in the midwife form. I'd kind of hoped she'd do another test, but I got reassured that false positives are pretty much unheard of.

I had to go though: I was on some persription drugs that had a "do not take whilst pregnant" warning, and needed to chat about risks from these.

Congratulations. :) I can't remember what I did. It was only three years ago. Blush. Sorry.

Thanks everyone! I'll give my surgery a call :)
