28 week bloods tomorrow - do I need to fast?

Sorry, I can't remember from last time and don't want to ring the midwife because I think it's for emergencys only!

I'm having my 28 week appointment tomorrow and I know she will be checking my blood glucose levels, so do I need to fast? It's not really a problem as my appt is at 10.30 but I'll be pretty hungry by then!

I didn't...they're essentially a repeat of your early bloods. I had mine at 27wks after a hospital admission for possible PE, and they decided not to repeat the process at 28wks. I'd been eating as usual the previous 24h and nothing was asked about food intake.

The only exception might be if they're asking you to fast for a GD test...you can always ring the MW team and ask.

Don't. I asked them on the previous appointment and they said not to. Only if you have to repeat the tests in case the find something out of the ordinary.

Only need to fast if you are specifically having the GTT, which you would prob know cos your in for a couple of hours.

Thank you! Not having GTT so I think I'm safe to just to have my breakfast in the morning. Just as well, I'm so bloody hungry at the minute! Cow pie anyone?
