I know it's slightly sad strange to admit but I love One Born Every Minute and can't wait for the new series to start tomorrow.

I'll be watching even though I'm 30 weeks pregnant and it's bound to put the fear of god into me, will you?

NotFromConcentrate · 04/01/2012 10:08

I'll be watching! I watched the first two series comfortable in the knowledge that I'd never have to do that again... I'll be watching tonight 30 weeks pregnant woth DC3! I suspect there will be much shouting at the television, and possibly a tear or two.

Rikalaily · 04/01/2012 10:21

I'll probably watch this series despite not being pregnant atm because I've heard that they were filming it at my local hospital (hope it was the MLU rather than the normal labour rooms!)

firsttimer01 · 04/01/2012 10:34

Absolutley love this programme! Watched them all last year and will defo make sure the other half watches it this time :)

FannyFifer · 04/01/2012 10:36

Absolutely will be watching, love this series.

spiderlight · 04/01/2012 10:58

Definitely! Can't wait.

fredandginger · 04/01/2012 11:07

Is there any website which shows the US version? I didn't know it existed...

working9while5 · 04/01/2012 11:09

I wonder did anyone here give birth at St. Annes (the hospital in the last series) and was it the same type of care in RL as on the telly?

farfallarocks · 04/01/2012 11:11

No I won't be, I was addicted last year and all excited as we had just started TTC.
One year later I can't stand anything that reminds me that everyone else is pregnant except for me :(

OneLittleBabyGirl · 04/01/2012 11:23

Is it back on? It was Princess Anne in the last series. Most of my NCT group went there, as it's a choice of that or Winchester for us. So it's really close to home! Where is it this time?

I kept shouting, get off your back woman all the time too. BTW, it didn't prepare me for what happened in labour at all. Lets say I was in when they were very very busy, and we didn't receive any care at all, even with a PROM I wasn't an emergency enough.

Yes, definitely, although tears will be tripping me - I can be an emotional wreck! Can't wait!

tiddleypompom · 04/01/2012 11:39

I am actively looking forward to it! I shall watch with knowing facial expressions this time as have 14 wk DS... Mind you, I'll probably have to record it too - 9pm is past my bedtime Wink

Not sure the advert claiming 'it is the worst pain you will ever feel in your life' is exactly encouraging for those first-timers yet to give birth however!

shagmundfreud · 04/01/2012 11:51

Oh god, must remember to put tena lady on so I don't experience any .... complications.... major wee accident while doing the inevitable sympathetic pushing. Grin

AriesWithBellsOn · 04/01/2012 11:53

Um. I wonder why people "love" this programme. Is it the babies at the end? Is it the human drama? I think watching someone's labour is rather intrusive, though I appreciate it is done sensitively and with their consent. But people have said here time and again that we don't get to see the "normal" labours, as the ones with interventions make better telly. I'm not picking a fight, or being judgemental, I'm just wondering.

I'm the same as farfellarocks, I'm afraid. It all makes me very sad, even the trailers for the programme.

farfallarocks · 04/01/2012 12:06

Aries :(

shagmundfreud · 04/01/2012 12:08

I watch if for professional reasons.

But Aries - I know where you're coming from.

Birth is an essentially private act. There is some argument that truly 'undisturbed' births have the best chance of being physiologically straightforward. If that's true, then that really says something about the ethics of those senior midwives who have OK'd this type of filming to take place. They will know about the importance of privacy in relation to the hormonal cascade of labour. Most of the women who enter their unit won't know.
