The wax debate... WWYD?

A few people have expressed surprise that I am not going to go for a bikini wax before I give birth... Am 35 / 36 weeks. I know it's wookie like a little unkempt but I honestly don't care about people judging me as I give birth.

Or I thought I didn't. Now have visions of midwives bursting into laughter and doctors shakin their heads on horror at the hirsute woman in room 101.

So do I suck it up and get a wax or just let nature take its course?

Why on earth would you? I think its madness myself Grin

Yes that's my thinking too but some crazy people friends I spoke to we're horrified at my lack of personal grooming...

I have no idea why people get waxed pre-birth, believe me no matter how jungle like your thicket, baby will find a way out Grin.

I know someone who had ingrown hairs through her scar line and had to have them sorted out under a local, you do not need any extra undercarridge pain after giving birth.

lol yes because Midwives stand around laughing about the unkempt fanjo in room 6, honestly some people are wierd i would do what you want and ignore the helpful advise. IMHO if i can't see it myself (which i can't anymore unfortunately) then i'm not going to groom it Grin no body is going to care either way

If you want to get it done, get it done but I think you'd be doing it for the wrong reasons.

Trust me the midwives and docs wont care what down there looks like they've seen it all before and besides, whats a bit of pubic hair when you're pushing a baby out of one hole and shitting yourself out of the other! Grin

I would like to have a wax done beacuse I like to be hairless, but that's just my personal choice, nothing to do with DH or the staff at the hospital, I just feel cleaner and it would save me from doing my contortionist act trying to apply veet cream

Im 24 weeks now, and just cant be arsed to do anything so whether I actually go or not is another matter.

TopazMortmain · 03/01/2012 13:44

Right! I am not going to tamper with nature. Normally I'm a big fan of waxing but what with not being able to even see my feet and that story about the ingrown hair (!) I'm going to wait until the summer a while.

I feel better now.

Good call.

Leave it alone. You don't want to be dealing with regrowth AND any stitches etc.
