Hi,

I am 16wks at the mo and hoping to go away for a week or so fairly soon. Does anyone have any recommendations?? Am a bit on the large side (even the midwife asked if I was sure I wasn't having more than one!) and our dd is just about to turn two, so somewhere that won't require a lot of walking!

We were thinking about Sharm but seem to be a lot of horror stories about gut rot, so maybe not the best during a pregnancy.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

We're off to Dubai soon with an 18m old. Right time zone for keeping up a bit later and around 25degrees. All inclusive but not much else to do other than lounge about in the pool, which suits us!
We're going here
Hope you enjoy your break.

Would avoid sharm for same reasons toy state (and also as friend did go when pregnant and duly got a tummy bug). What about canary islands? Some
Lovely hotels there

Went to Cyprus at about 22 weeks, was lovely and lazy!

I went to Lanzarote at 12 weeks - there are English speaking GPs in all the resorts and the weather's nice this time of year. There's not much in the way of scary tummy bugs and no vaccinations necessary (and you know, it's Spain, so a lot less hard work than anywhere else that far south). Probably Fuerteventura would be better for you guys though with the wee one as there are better beaches - we stayed in a villa in Playa Blanca, had our own pool so didn't really go anywhere at all but might have been boring for a kid...

I went to Marrakesh when 5 months pregnant with DS 1 and to Sharm when six months pregnant with DS 2. I was very careful and didn't pick up anything although six months pregnant was the limit for being comfortable when trundling around in the heat.

I would recommend that you take at least a comfy umbrella style buggy for your 2 year old though.

I was in Dahab ( 90 km south of Sharm and way less touristy) at 9-10 weeks. It was fine, none of us got any bugs at all. Just eat where the locals eat and make sure your seafood is well cooked.
Have fun.

We have booked to go sailing in the British Virgin Islands in a couple of weeks when I will be 19 weeks going, 21 when back. I am going to be super careful about food and got my flight socks for the plane. Really looking forward to our last relaxed holiday before baby arrives.

We went to Futerventura when I was about 14 weeks and it was great, very relaxing not too hot and clean I could definitely recommend it.

Dubai is v family friendly. Have heard good things about Cyprus and Malta. We're thinking of going to morocco at Easter (dd is one and am ten weeks pg).
