Daily headaches. Is this normal?

I'm 15 weeks with DC3 and getting bad headaches daily. It's been about 10 days now and they are starting to get me down.

I don't remember anything this bad with the boys, the occasional headache but not daily. I know that it could be a sign of pre-eclampsia but read its too early for that.

I've got a MW appointment on thursday so will ask about it then but wanted to know if there is anything serious this could indicate.

Thanks.

I'm not a medical person unless a plaster is required for a small cut but I don't think daily headaches can be right Hmm

Can you see your GP in the meantime? Get some blood tests done perhaps.

Are you drinking enough, maybe dehydration could be the cause. Or is there a change in your diet?

Hope they ease up for you.

Sounds familiar. Have suffered with headaches and migraines all my life, that hasn't changed while pregnant. Get headaches for days on end, normal for me.
As MustControlFistofDeath said; dehydration is a possible cause.

I started with headaches during my 3rd pregnancy and they were daily. I think I had really low blood pressure too which made them worse. Mine have continued since and I get migraines now. The gp wasn't much help either Sad

I'll struggle to see a GP before my MW appt on Thursday. Your head has to be literally hanging off to get an appt here.

I am making sure I drink the 8 glasses a day so I doubt it's dehydration but maybe it is. No real change to diet either.

Phone your mw for advice, but if your BP is normal it is normal in pregnancy, unfortunately! I was plagued in my first pg and was told NO painkillers at all. This time round policy has changed apparently and I can take paracetamol if it's really bad.

Kayzr.

Hey. We're on the June thread together

Unfortunately I've had them the past week too, particularly worse In the morning. At
My midwife appointment last week my blood pressure was "nice and low" so perhaps like another poster said it has something to do with that?

If mine continue I'll Definately be contacting midwife / GP as I too drink plenty of water!! Sad

Kayzr · 02/01/2012 09:15

Hi rrrayray,

My blood pressure has been 'normal' at the 2 appts I've had with the MW so far. I might ring the MW later and see what she says.

I got headaches earlier on in my pregnancy and still get them now if I go too long without food, it hurts in the back of my head and neck, I think mine must be low blood sugar or hunger as if I eat something they usually ease off within half an hour or so

thejaffacakesareonme · 02/01/2012 13:17

I go them too at about that stage - I remember mentioning it to the MW at both the 12 and 16 week appointments. As my BP was normal she thought it may be to do with my eyesight. I had that checked though and it was fine. If you're due an eyetest though it may be worth getting one done.

I had bad headaches all the way through mine. I also has extremely low blood pressure. I used elemis soothing relaxing calming gel, I forget the name of it but it's about £30 a tube and really helped me.
