I'm 16 weeks PG with DC4 and will be having an elective c-sec. My first was an emcs followed by 2 electives. I have an appt with the obstetrics team next month where we are sure to discuss the c-sec but I wanted to ask if anyone - - has had more than 3 sections?

  • how much earlier than EDD was the section scheduled?
  • and anything else that may be relevant information?

TIA. :)

Hi, I am having my 4th CS in 2 weeks when I will be 39 weeks preg. I am a bit nervous but consultant isn't! Haven't had any extra care as been a straight forward pregnancy so normal midwife care and 2 consultant appointments. Consultant said he has performed an 8th CS on someone! Good luck x

I hope it all goes well for you, look forward to hearing your birth announcement on here. Good luck and all the best (wow at 8 c-secs!!!)

My friend has had 4 c-secs and all has been fine, she has been advised to stop now though Sad

The only person I know who has had 4, had to stop at four, she had her babies close together and did end up with some complications due to previous cs and had an emcs the final time because of this.

I've had 5 sections. I was warned that scar tissue might be a problem. It took a while for them to cut through it all to reach the baby but after that it was fine. I healed quickly and was pain free within a few days.

I had my 4th c-section in 2010 & it was fine.
I lost a bit of blood and was given a unit of blood.
The only downside for me was that they used staples..... was not pleasant to be removed and one got stuck so had to go into the DAU to get it removed.
Other than that, the c-section itself was quicker & less uncomfortable than my 3rd.
I had my c-section at 34 wks due to my pregnancy history.
I was advised not to have another baby..... but they said that after the 3rd c-section too.
Good luck.
