I am a bit of a product junkie and also newly pregnant. Will post in S&B too but does anyone know a good website that lists products that are safe/ unsafe to use in pregnancy? I know about retinol and salicylic acid but that's about it.

Unless you are eating them, I can't believe that anything could actually be harmful in pregnancy Wink!

Congratulations on your pregnancy, but the best thing is to relax and enjoy it rather than worrying over makeup.

Ah, maybe you're right! I had an MC a few months ago so being a little paranoid. I never would have thought of products being unsafe but a friend mentioned it. I shall relax!

Ahh - I don't blame you for being paranoid but so many miscarriages are because the fetus has a genetic issue rather than what a mother has consumed, especially in the first few months. The odd glass of wine, bit of pate or cheese is not going to cause a miscarriage. Obviously drink binging and a 40 a day smoking habit might take its toll Wink. Everything in moderation and you will be happier, as will your baby. Just ensure you are taking all the right supplements (additional vitamin D is also thought to now be beneficial) and get lots of rest. No other pregnancy is ever quite as special as the first and you never get the chance to put your feet up again!!!

Have a happy new year

Thanks for the reassurance.

Happy new year to you too!

I too have been very concerned over what I can and can't use during pregnancy and asked the MW who adivsed that the things you would usually buy should be okay. xx

Hi Mill I am using Neals Yard skincare products, Weleda and Aveeno are also good/safe during pregnancy. If you search in S&B there have been quite a few threads on this with varying opinions!

Some spot treatment thingies are a no go in pg. Never sure which ones so the only spot treatment I use in pg is simple spot banishing moisturiser.
