I am 6.5 weeks pregnant and feel so hungry. I have totally gone off sweet food and crave savoury which is not normal for me at all.

Is this normal and what type of foods are better to fill me up?

Thanks for your help :)

Yes totally normal Smile congrats!!!

Eat what you fancy - your body knows best, I found things like porridge, pasta, rice filled me up.

congratulations! yeah id say its pretty normal to be hungry. its just your body craving extra calories to give you the energy to create the perfect 'home' for your baby for the next 8months!

id eat little and often probably, this would also help if you start to suffer morning sickness!

i have 1DS and am TTC baby number2 but its early days!

Supposedly if you crave savoury food you are having a boy - no idea if it's true as it's a bit of an old wives tale! I also found little and often was best for me, all I really wanted while pregnant was steak and chips tho (at least it meant my iron levels were fantastic!)

Complex carbs little and often but listen to your body. Especially if ms kicks in! If u want mini cheddars for breakfast have them! Lol oh and the sweet=girl and savoury/salty = boy is tosh. I've gone off chocolate/sweets/cake and lived off crisps/sausage rolls/crackers to start and I'm having a DD

Lol, it was right for me (had a ds) but I suppose all the ol wives tales are right 50% of the time - let's be honest, there's only 2 options to give birth to Grin

I'm 32wks and at the beginning would eat constantly!! Partly because I was hungry but partly because if I wasn't eating, I felt sick. Found that Belvita breakfast biscuits were good for carrying round in my handbag-switched to baked crisps rather than fried as crisps were my main craving at the start. At meals try filling up on pasta, rice, potatoes-left over pasta can be a good lunch with a bit of cheese as the protein will keep you going too.

Thanks for your tips guys. I am sure I am going to be the size of a house but if my body wants food, it obviously needs it .... Who am I to argue!!!
