I've just found out that OBEM is back on Wednesday and thought I'd share! It is a new series with 14 episodes and is set in Leeds this time around. That should take away the back to work blues!

Excellent news, I will have had DC3 by episode 10 I reckon (hope).

Grin at Starlight.

I hope to be more assertive about what I really need if I have another baby:

Would you like me to get you a wheelchair?
No, thanks. I'm fine.
Yes, please.

I'll see if I can find your midwife.
No, please don't - I really need gas and air NOW.

You can go home when you've done a poo. Have you done a poo?
No. Repeat for 3 days.
Yes, Bye!

RecursiveMoon · 30/12/2011 21:11

And I always have a little cry when the baby is born.

DH does too Grin.

Starlight, your argument is a convincing one. I will set the Sky+ and then work up the courage to watch.

Now, do I make DP watch too? Or is that unnecessarily cruel?

Brilliant looking forward to it. I think 6 months post birth of DD I can manage it. Grin I had to stop watching OBEM US as I gave birth during the series.

FutureNannyOgg · 30/12/2011 21:45

I have a rule, that for every crap, overmanaged birth I see (eg OBEM) I have to watch a lovely gentle natural birth video to counter it. I have a collection favourited on youtube Wink

It is fun for playing bingo (or a drinking game if you are not expecting), I quite like using it for thinking about how I would get myself, or a doula client, out of the awkward situation.

ooh great! loved this! i watched some of the last series whilst in hospital on the maternity ward at 32wks with my DS!! the midwives thought i was bonkers!! [GRIN]

Won't be watching until this one appears, which feels bloody unlikely at the moment.

FWIW I don't find it particularly representative of my past experience. The mws talk to the women on the show which is an alien concept to me...
