I'm now 14+2 and last night I suddenly became very aware of squashing my bump. Consequently I've had my first crap nights sleep, and I guess it can only get worse now Grin

Sorry, I have never slept on my stomach so it was never a problem for me. Good luck

From about 3 wks...really, really sore boobs...

I got a dreamgenii in the end. Helped me stay on my left and gave me a lot of hip and back support (I was aching at night/mildly during the day before). Took a couple of nights to get into the swing of it (natural back/right sleeper), but it's been a godsend of a pillow!

I'm 33 weeks and still on my stomach (recovery position style). ;)

20 weeks baby just started kicking until I moved. Ungrateful little so and so Wink

With my first pregnancy I moved off my front quicker - I think it was psychological though.

I can't wait to sleep on my tummy again.

I seem to be rather big for 14 weeks, and it's my first baby. Mine's probably psychological, but it feels like I'm maybe squashing the baby. I even got in to a bit of a panic about maybe squashing its head Blush. Someone told me it's good to try and sleep on your left side, but I can't remember the reason?

You won't squash the baby! I slept on my stomach until 30 something weeks, although it was more in the recovery position and with lots of pillows.

Sleeping onthe left side is for optimal fetal positioning (something you don't have to worry about yet) and for good blood flow to the placenta Smile

I couldn't sleep properly on my stomach from about 4 weeks - it was one of my first proper pregnancy symptoms. I think it was just too tender for me to be comfortable. I switched to sleeping on my back or side - and now have a big Mothercare maternity pillow that I cuddle up to at night, which keeps me on my side.

I'm 14+6 and usually sleep on my stomach. This week I can feel something when I do...can't say that it's pain or movement or what it is exactly but it just doesn't feel right so I find the recovery position is working better. Keep waking up on my stomach though and having to shift position.

LoveInASnowyClimate · 30/12/2011 09:07

I'm 29 weeks and sleep mostly sort of half on my tummy in the apparently very popular recovery position, but sometime wake up fully on my tummy.

McPhee · 30/12/2011 09:13

Ah, thank you ILikeToMoveIt

IfYouSee that's exactly what I felt. Something, and it felt wrong and then made me paranoid Blush

It seems maybe I should be practising the recovery position!
