Did anyone have a metalic taste in the mouth with both sexes or just one?

Hi,

I just realised im PG with my 3rd (not planned)!

I had a strong metalic taste in my mouth early PG with my DS for a few days but I didn't have it at all with my DD.

I have it again this time so im thinking it's another boy.

Not that it's a problem at all, as long as it's healthy.
Im just very nosey and impatient !

Sorry to disappoint.....I had it in both pregnancies throughout the entire time 24/7 as well as all day and night morning sickness for the first 5 months and i've got a girl and a boy

This is interesting as I had the strong metallic taste in previous pregnancies (2 boys) but haven't had it this time. Won't know if it's a boy or girl until July though!

I had it with both a boy and a girl - sorry if that ruins the theory. The girl was a twin though and we lost the other baby so it may have been a boy.

Had it with both 2 dd's and ds. I also had a very strong sense of smell with both.

Both sexes. And I craved savoury stuff with both too. Never craved anything sweet.

yep, had it with both dd and ds along with the acute sense of smell - I remember screeching at xdp what the smell was just before he was going out, he had just brushed his teeth and used mouthwash!!

I had it last month during my 2ww and was convinced it was a symptom, turns out it was BFN so i guess it was just an effect of the pregnancy vitamins i've been taking.

R u taking any vitamins? and did you take them with your last Pregnancy??

I had with DD1 my first but not for DS1 or DS2 or DD2. Just my first pg.

Ha, well that proves it means.....nothing!

I haven't been taking any supplements this time. Just taking folic acid, essential fats and acidophilus now that I know but the taste was before all of that.

Well, I just have to wait until 20 weeks when I will be back on here trying to get mumsnetters to tell me if I should find out the sex or not! I am a Libra!

So I am in my first trimester. I already have a 12 year old daughter. But with this pregnancy everything is so different. I can barely eat & I have this awful metallic bitter taste in my mouth. You guys think I’ll have a boy or girl?

I've had 2 boys and didn't have this taste with either of them.. but I've got it really strong now! I'm nearly 9 weeks!
