so upset by an administrator of all people

This morning I phoned the number sent to me by my doctor to try to get an appointment with midwives and got met with some jumped up administrator who told me

"judging from your referral letter you'll be under consultant led care and probably need a c section. With any luck you won't lose this one. The senior midwife will decide on the process though. We'll send you an appointment letter in due course"

What the fuck? I lost first baby dd in very late pregnancy, second dd was induced a bit early but there was no c sec and is now a very healthy 6 year old and now I'm expecting again.

Surely it not up to an administrator to make those sort of decisions and even if that's what she thinks she should not say so.

Am so worried about losing another and comments like this do not help :(

You must make a complaint about this. How dare she talk to you like that.

I am so sorry for your loss and so , how dare she speak to you like that, absolutely ridiculous. Please, please complain. God knows how many people have been upset by her attitude, she needs to be severely reprimanded!

Definitely a situation for a 'strongly worded letter' to someone in charge. How fucking tactless, insensitive and, frankly, none of her business. Hope you're OK?

Complain, complain, complain! This should be a disciplinary matter for her employers.

I would write and complain without a shadow of a doubt. Try to find the name of the head of the department to address it to.

It does appear to be the way with medical admin staff . My Dr's receptionist informed me I was unable to stay at the surgery since moving, this is even after being told the contry by my Dr and the MW. (A lot of the time the admin staff in surgeries are full of their own self importnace).
