Long time MN lurker, first time poster.

However, I've had an idea that I must share- frozen foil pouch drinks for your hospital bag-They will stay cool for days and will keep other things (like snacks or water) cool in the process.

We currently do this for long journeys and camping- so I think it would work for being in labour too..

Sorry if this is already done already. However I thought of it so I'm claiming the credit Grin

What is a frozen foil pouch drink? :)

Flisspaps · 28/12/2011 22:59

Do you mean stick a Capri Sun in the freezer?

Garliccheesechips · 28/12/2011 23:06

As flisspaps. But I went generic

Did this for both of my DCs.

I don't really like capri suns but what I REALLY want right now is a big plate of garlic bread and cheesy chips. Mmmmmmm.

I blame you for that, OP Hmm

Garliccheesechips · 29/12/2011 16:47

How about:
Chips
drizzle with garlic butter
top with melty cheese

It's an Irish delicacy

Similar suggestion from MW: Frubes frozen...
Gives you proteines, sugars for labour (gentle way of eating basically) and something to keep everything else nice and cold.
That reminds me to change my food bag to a cool bag, thank you OP! Grin

I'm moving to Ireland.
