Dear bump...where are you?

17+4 with my first, no bump at all yet. I was a size 6-8 pre-preg, now a size 8. I've gained 7lbs (god knows where it's gone, all on my bottom probably.)

Where's my bump?

When did you start to get yours? x

Not until 22 weeks hippie...it'll come up overnight!

hippieshake · 27/12/2011 21:53

Did you just wake up and yours was there? I have been wondering if it would be gradual,or suddenly there. I was worried that I hadn't gained enough weight perhaps. x

I totally understand. I don't know what I was expecting but thought I'd look more obviously pregnant with a bump and not like I have a macaroni cheese addiction (I do). Mine has started to appear now at 20 weeks. I've put on 13lbs so far and was small to start with, think it has all gone to my chest, husband is thrilled to bits. Can't say I share his enthusiasm but it does make doing up jackets hilarious!!

hippieshake · 27/12/2011 22:01

bonbon with you on the chest thing. Mine have gone from a 32B to a 32DD already. DH can't stop staring at them!

18+2 with my first. I lost 3lb between my dating scan at 11+1 and my check up at 16+1, but I'm a size 16 to start with so I've got enough to spare (Midwife said it was fairly normal as have been trying to eat healthier & DM seems to think that it should be a good sign for me to not put on too much weight). Found out this morning that my snug cargos that I wore all last summer now have 4 inches between the button & buttonhole. I think I'm going for the slow & steady bump appearance...

Hippieshake, I'm sure that you're doing everything right. I've read some of your posts about your previous issues with food and I'm glad that you have a better relationship with yourself these days. Keep at it! :)

hippieshake · 27/12/2011 22:10

Thanks Enfyshedd I think I finally realised that I have to make sure I keep myself healthy and strong for the little one. (Hides big bowl of chocolate) :)

I just want to look pregnant now. Everyone at work keeps making a point of asking where my bump is. x

PamBeesly · 27/12/2011 22:25

I remember putting on a dress and pooof my bump was there I was so proud and happy, I wore that dress for a week! Also the bump was always way bigger in the evenings :)

melliebobs · 27/12/2011 22:56

I'm on my first and mine only came 30-31 weeks n is very small cos baby's very low down

Popbiscuit · 27/12/2011 23:02

Don't worry! I didn't show with my first until 7.5 months (similar build to you). I worried about it endlessly. Apparently it's related to the position of your uterus.

With my 2nd and 3rd babies strangers started congratulating me at 6-8 weeks Blush. Your stomach muscles, um, lose their integrity after you've had one baby.

NotnOtter · 27/12/2011 23:05

mine did not arrive until 20-21 - by 30-31 i looked term!

McPhee · 27/12/2011 23:09

I'm 14 weeks tomorrow, and now look like a fat blob, not like I'm pregnant. I've totally lost my waist and my bra size has shot up to a 38DD Shock

I also want a proper bump damn it!!

KD0706 · 27/12/2011 23:35

I'm 24 weeks with DC2 and I've shown later this time.
When I went for my 20 week scan I was actually really worried that they would find the baby hadn't been growing properly as I had lost weight through morning sckness and didn't have a bump at all.

Baby was totally fine and at about 22 weeks my bump appeared and now (24 weeks) I look really pregnant. I'm carrying really high up, it's like I have nothing at the bottom then suddenly just under my ribs there's this massive bump you could rest a dinner plate on.

So I'm sure you will 'pop' soon. Smile

JambalayaCodfishPie · 28/12/2011 00:13

Im 23wks and mostly bumpless. If you feel, its there, but nothing to look at, IYSWIM?

LimeFlower · 28/12/2011 16:05

I could ask the same question...bump,where are you?
19 weeks tomorrow, still flattish, maybe except some evenings when I'm bloated like hell.
Although I can't wait to be visibly pregnant I'm not worried as can feel bubba moving and heard that later the bump appears sooner it disappears after the birth.
I'm (still) size 8/10 ,weight at the beginning 54 kg,so far put 3 kg's on (including Christmast feast).

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 28/12/2011 16:48

With my first I didn't start to look properly pg until 6m when I suddenly ballooned :o

At 19weeks I had put on only 4lbs and then had a bad couple of months (broken leg, very anaemic, no appetite, contractions at 26wks) so it was almost as though my bump waited til I was back on my feet, eating normally again and I was just over 2.7 st heavier than pre-pg.

Second one I was showing at 10weeks :o

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 28/12/2011 16:50

Sorry, that should say, was 2.7st over pre-pg weight when I went into labour

hippieshake · 28/12/2011 20:46

I just can't wait to get my bump. I don't think I've felt the baby kicking yet, so I'd like one or the other :)

Omg, I'm only 7 weeks and can't get my jeans on put 2.5Ibs on inc xmas feasts!! hopefully wont continue at this rate!!

FrankiDon182 · 01/01/2012 12:17

I wouldnt worry too much!
Keep taking pregnancy vitamins and eating well (i have problems with food too so know this takes alot of time and effort- bump is worth it though!)
Was very small with DS1 didnt start showing until around 7 months (?) and was still tiny 6 days overdue.
Am currently 27 weeks with DS2 and although i feel big i still get directed to the early pregnancy department at every midwife appointment, never get offered a seat on the bus/train and have people question 'really ?!?!' why i would lue about this is behond me? Surely a baby would be expected as 'proof' at the end of the 40 weeks lol?

Congratulations and enjoy it!
