I don't feel pregnant

I am 6+1 pregnant with my second baby and I don't feel pregnant at all!
With my first, at this point in my pregnancy, my breasts were killing me, I was feeling nauseous especially with certain smells and tired a lot. With this one I feel nothing except period like pains quite often.
I went to the doctors and she didn't test me herself to confirm or work out my dates (I've done this myself) just told me to contact the midwife and that was it. With my first, the doctor tested me, worked out dates, put me in touch with the midwife, answered a few questions etc. I have moved to a completely new area, is it a different process because of that or has it all changed since my last 4 years ago?
I think where I had that interaction with my first doctor it sunk in a bit more and seemed more real, at the moment I feel like im in a bit of a limbo waiting to see the midwife (in about 3 weeks time), worrying i'm not actually pregnant, even though I did 3 tests that were all positive, or that there's something wrong.
Am I just be completely paranoid?

Don't worry - I felt EXACTLY the same, with no symptoms and not feeling at all pg. not helped by the fact that my GP wouldn't even let me book an appointment to tell anyone I was pg til I was at least 6 weeks! Even when I had a scan at 9 weeks I still didn't feel it. It only started to sink in once I'd had the 12 week scan and saw a human-looking thing bouncing around inside me. Even now though I still have a little panic every now and then thinking I'm not pregnant anymore, even though I'm starting to get a little bump! Congratulations!

If you'd like some of my pregnancy symptoms I'd be more than willing to share!

I'm 10 weeks and am praying for some respite soon as I'm not sure how much more my body can take.

On a serious note though, everyone experiences different levels of symptoms and different areas have different procedures re GP's and midwives.

I honestly had zero pregnancy symptoms until my baby started kicking- that and heartburn were my only symptoms until she was born. It worried me at the time but reading others experiences I am thankful to have had such an easy time!

It is just so different from my first i'm starting to doubt myself! I'm sure I will feel better once I see the midwife but at the moment i'm having to remind myself that i'm actually pregnant rather than just knowing iykwim. We have been ttc for a while but I was a bit surprised when the test came back positive because I hadn't really expected it, with my first I just knew I was pregnant. Its very strange.
Alliwant last time I had every symptom going, so I understand, hopefully you will start to feel a bit better soon Smile
I feel a little better to see i'm not the only one, fingers crossed I am just being paranoid and everything is fine.
Thank you for your replies ladies.

second time, I ended up freaking out about the things that weren't the same as the first one Xmas Grin. I did worry more overall actually, thought I'd be calmer second time around, which for the second half I was.

I totally understand you. I actually started crying and saying "what if it's all just wind?" and "everyone is going to be disappointed if I'm not pregnant" in front of DP who tried very hard not to laugh at me.
When I went to the midwife's first appointment I said the same to one of the assistants there, she was really lovely asked me if I felt pregnant and gave me a test. I guess that she understood me as she was also pregnant :)

Wish I knew, i came on here because I'm feeling exactly the same (6+0). I'm not sure what my symptoms were like with DS at this stage, I tested later (over 5 weeks) so I guess I only just knew I was pregnant. I remember sore boobs though.

I had a miscarriage in the summer (at 11+3, but baby stopped growing around 5 weeks). That was really different - I felt very pregnant before I missed my period, but it started to subside after about 6 weeks so I knew something was wrong.

I'm hoping this slow start to symptoms is more like my first pregnancy with DS.

Good luck!

I didnt have any symptoms until about 12 weeks, then I just got horrible stretching pains and some bleeding, my pregnancy just didnt seem to sink in at all (this is my first) not even when I had my first scan and they actually found the baby that I was convinced id made up! in fact I felt like that right up until I hit 16 weeks and started to get my first flutters, although typically for this baby turns out I have an anterior placenta and once the little tyke moved his feet I went five days feeling nothing, thats become my norm now, days of nothing and then a good few kicks - I made so many posts on here though saying the same sort of thing, its a worrying time but keep positive :) you have a little baby in there enjoy the fact that your well and not suffering and hang on for those magic first flutters that will make it all real for you
