If you got more spots when pregnant, did you have a boy or girl?

My sister is pregnant with her second child (she has one DS) and has been getting lots of spots on her face. She has heard that spots in pregnancy are linked with having a girl (apparently a study in France said you were 90% more likely to have a girl if you suffered spots during pregnancy) so I thought I would do a poll on here to see if there is any truth to this.

If you suffered bad skin while pregnant did you have a boy or a girl?Smile

I don't know yet but for some reason I'm convinced it's a girl
I have a very spotty face today!!
Other old wives tale is it's a girl if craving sweets which I am x

Well we haven't found out yet 16weeks now but I'm getting more spots (rarely get them) yet my hair is looking better than its done since before I started dying my hair 10 years ago! We shall see!

Unless I'm blind @pinkchampagne never announced what her sister was having!! I would be intrigued to know even though it was 6 years ago!!.

I have had such mixed symptoms and we didn't find out what we were having. Am 22 weeks at the minute.

Boy signs- no morning sickness, bad skin, seen to be carrying more out front, linea negra line going above belly button.

Girl signs - bad skin (some say girls take the beauty!) Cloudy urine, craving sweet things.

Anyone had mixed signs? What did you end up having?

I had great skin and had a girl!

SnowWhite33 · 02/06/2017 10:15

Normally i get ugly deep hormonal spots on my chin once a month. During both pregnancies i had beautiful spot free skin throughout (2nd pregnancy now).

1st pregnancy Boy:
-no morning sickness
-no change in boob size till after giving birth
-no cravings of any sort
-very dark linea negra going way up belly button

2nd pregnancy Girl

  • nauseous weeks 6-12 (no need to hug the toilet luckily, just feeling off throughout the day).
-boobs feeling bigger and really uncomfortable -eating lots of spicy and sour food (especially when nauseous) -no linea negra yet (but only just hit 2nd trimester)

I got proper Acne and am having a boy Smile

Bluebeedee · 02/06/2017 12:59

Very spotty with a boy

Ecureuil · 02/06/2017 13:00

No spots, two girls

Flickstar · 02/06/2017 14:25

Three pregnancies- one spotty pregnancy.

I have two boys and a girl and it was the girl pregnancy (middle one) that was the spotty one.

My son my skin was clear, my daughter (due next month) spotty, skin has cleared up now though thankfully

I’m suffering terrible spots on my back. I’m 12 weeks pregnant, Anyone believe the old wives tale that baby girls take there mums beauty and boys give you the pregnancy glow. I currently look awful spotty greasy hair and dark black circles under my eyes 🙈

ReggaetonLente · 04/04/2018 11:36

Yep, I’m getting spots despite usually having very clear skin and I’m expecting a girl.

Pinkvoid · 04/04/2018 11:43

I had acne with my DS and clear beautiful skin with my DD’s. I have acne in this pregnancy and the all day nausea I had with DS but didn’t with DD’s so am thinking it’s a boy.

Hayleyxmx · 04/04/2018 11:47

Thanks still 50/50 then 🙈 I’m obsessing about old wives tales and my baby’s gender.

MrsG95 · 04/04/2018 14:17

Very spotty both times, 2 boys

Smellyjo · 04/04/2018 17:09

My usually spotty skin really cleared up in my first pregnancy with a girl! Currently pregnant and pretty spotty so I wonder if it's a boy as it's different? Or maybe just all the chocolate I'm eating Blush

Hulaballoo · 04/04/2018 21:15

Had 2DDs and spotty with both... Having a ds now and my skin is clearer than pre pregnancy

neomamma · 04/04/2018 21:48

No spots for me first time around and I had a girl. This time around my skin still seems fine so far (18 weeks) but I don't know what sex the baby is. I am pretty sure my hair growth (legs, underarms, chin, upper lip) slowed down very considerably in my first pregnancy and that was what convinced me I was expecting a girl, and sure enough I was right. This time I have a feeling I am just as hairy as normal so it could be a boy this time...but it is 50/50 anyway!!

Hulaballoo · 24/04/2018 22:37

With both DDs I was very spotty.. Having a DS now and best skin I've ever had!
