Anyone else ever craved anything really really strange?

I am really really wanting to drink the washing up liquid. I keep going to sniff it but so far not actually drinking it.

I have heard of coal and chalk but washing up liquid??

Might be worth ringing your midwife. Really odd cravings can sometimes indicate a vitamin or mineral deficiency, so worth getting checked over.

I have an appointment with her tomorrow so will mention it to her. Thanks Xmas Smile

A friend of mine craved rubber - particularly car tyres. I think it's called Pica.

With DS3 i wanted to lick metallic lime green cars. The urge to do so was so overwhelming at times.

It seems so strange to me to crave something that isn't food.

I craved petrol when pregnant with both 2 & 3. My ex used to fill up alot so I could wind the window down and have a little sniff, I was literally grinding my teeth the craving was that bad, don't know how I managed to resist drinking it!

When pregnant with ds I was walking back from a midwife appointment and could smell a bonfire.

I walked round the area for an hour trying to find it. The smell was delicious. I had terrible nausea for the whole nine months. That was the only hour out of 6720 others in that pregnancy that I didn't feel sick. Don't know what I'd have done if I'd found the source.

With dd1 & dd2 I craved bleach, bubble bath & bodywash (johnsons purple) and anything that smelt nice Xmas Hmm. Sometimes it was that bad I would lie in bath and just squirt body wash on my hands and smell it could've ate it but obviously not very good haha. I'm so glad someone else has posted about wierd cravings I thought I was going mad.
