I am now 39 weeks pregnant with dc1 and I can honestly say that the last 9 months have not been what I expected at all! Other people seem to breeze through pregnancy whereas I feel like a complete pregnancy failure. I am so worried that maybe I am just pathetic and everyone else suffers just the same but simply gets on with it. If so how on earth will I handle labour? To cut a long story short I had sickness 24-7 till 20 weeks, then spd took over and ended up on crutches. The pain of spd can have me in tears which I feel does not bode well for labour. I have pregnancy rhinitis which I've had from first trimester that keeps me awake a lot.
These are the majors but I have also had lots of crazy little things that I would never have thought could happen to your body during pregnancy! It has certainly been an eye opener.
Am I alone or does everyone have it bad and just accepts that it's part of pregnancy?

Childbirth was awesome. And I didn't even have an easy labour - but it meant that I wasn't pregnant anymore at the end of it. I'm 6 weeks now and I'm scared about all the constant sickness that's ahead of me but the getting it out bit at the end doesn't phase me at all.

So I've just had a growth scan and estimated weight is 9lb 2! Needless to say I am rather shocked and maybe a little bit scared. Have only measured big once and so scan was precaution. Midwife said this could prove difficult for a first timer. Anyone had a similar experience/words of wisdom?

Wow lovely big baby! Smile

My first was big and I ended up having a caesarean because his head wasn't even coming down. It was fine!

However there are loads of people on here and in RL who have had big babies with no problems.

One of my friends' first baby was 11lb 3oz! and she had him with only gas and air and it didn't take too long.

So my "words of wisdom" are really only that you Just Can't Tell. Which is no help at all!

Please don't worry about the baby's size, lots of people can give birth to a baby that size naturally, or as balloon said, if there is a problem, they can help you get it out and that will be fine too.

Also, I know lots and lots of people who have had growth scans, been told they are having a big baby, and they have gone on to have very average sized babies. Including one woman who was induced early as they said her baby was so big. It was 6lb 13oz Hmm
