Hi all well this is my 4th pregnancy. I have 2dd and 1 mc. I had the morning sickness with both dd and again this time round Xmas Sad

With dd 1 they put me on cyclizines after being in hospital
With dd2 they put me on something different can't remember the name of them was also in hospital

With this pregnancy they have put me on cyclizines and so far avoided hospital. I have been on these a week and still not keeping water down. Do you think I should go back and see if there is anything else I could try? Or do you think its to early for them to make a difference? I'm really struggling to eat drink and really don't want to end up in hospital this time of year. Any advice would be great.

there are a few different things that can help, and you can try in combination too. Some GPs are a bit edgy about prescribing in pregnancy (for obvious reasons) but there are lots who have the experience to help you a bit more.

Good luck. It's miserable. I hope you feel better soon!

There are lots that work so just a case of finding what's right for you. Some people need to be on more than 1 antisickness pill to work and some v sick people need steroids too. Not saying this to scare you just so you know there are options and if so bad you can't keep fluids down don't think you have to put up with it. If you're not keeping anything down you could get dehydrated and as you know that might mean drip in hospital. If your gp refuses to prescribe ask to be ref to obstetric care. I am a dr but my own gp lectured me about risks of taking meds in pregnancy despite my recurrent admissions to hospital and lack of evidence. Sadly some people are bit out of date. Hope yours settles down.you have my sympathy...I was vomiting until the end.

Dani Sounds very nasty, if it's your fourth pregnancy, for sure you are an expert, but do watch out for dehydration, testing with Kestosticks. This does sound a bit like Hyperemesis to me - don't hestitate to join us on the Hyperemesis Support Thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/1313856-Hyperemesis-Support if necessary.
