Stomach bug

I went to a party earlier and stupidly (greedily) kept going at the dips after they'd been sitting out for a few hours without thinking. Have been throwing up for the past hour or so. I don't think it's ms as I'm nearly 9 weeks and haven't had a sniff of it until now.

I'm trying to stay hydrated but any other tips? Is it just a case of riding it out? I'm guessing seeking medical advice at this stage would be ott as I'm not exactly at death's door. Thanks!

Hiya,

Ms can start at any time. My first pg I got it around 8 weeks, often in evenings and afternoons.

Try Ginger ale for the nausea, dry toast, and lots of ester. If you're not keeping fluids down, call the gp.

Good luck!

I've had a stomach bug too. Apparently it won't do any harm to baby so long as you don't let yourself get too dehydrated. If you get a temperature too though then see the doctor. Get well soon x

Hiya. Sorry you are suffering.

I had a vomiting bug a few weeks ago and much as the others said, the main advice was to stay well hydrated. Try and have little sips of water. If you're unable to keep water down for a period of time and urine is dark etc or vomiting not passed after a couple of days, seek medical help or obviously do so if you get stomach pain or other symptoms that worry you. Midwife is a good first point of call.

If it helps, I was quite violently ill and it's done no harm so try not to worry.

Just put your feet up otherwise. Really draining being in the first trimester anyway without being ill so take it easy.

I'm 19 weeks pregnant, and have had a stomach bug with abdominal pain for most of the last week, which I'm now nearly over thank goodness! I went to the doctors on Thursday after having it for a couple of days, and she signed me off work for a couple of days, sent off some samples and gave me a prescription for diralyte, just to ensure I got enough rest and stayed hydrated enough.

I was a bit worried about it, and everything I could find said to contact the doctors after over 48 hours, which is what I did. The doctor didn't seem to mind!
