apologies for tmi but.......

im 39weeks today and had a growth scan thursday doctor also did a sweep and told me i was 2cm dialated and labour wouldnt be long thursday teatime i had a show later that night i started with contractions went to labour ward and got to 4cm dialated any way nothing happened so i was sent home friday as everything had stopped, but today im still getting a bloody show when i wipe (apologies) how long does it take to fully loose your plug? and how long does it take to go into labour after. we really had pout hopes up thursday nite as midwifes were really positive about my progress and said i would have him early hours friday morning but im still sat here belly up lol

Hi sjsd. This stopping and starting can be so exhausting! I don't think the show really means too much. I lost mine at 38 weeks with DS2, and was induced at 40+10! However, something is happening. You could be up to 6cms or more now! So when it does kick off, you won't have too long to go!

thanks its just so fustrating, the midwife kept telling me i shouldnt be long as its my 3rd. with my 1st my waters went and didnt notice a show and my 2nd i was induced so this time its totally different sounds really daft but do you dialate without getting any contraction like pain? really want him here this weekend lol so i can get settled for xmas

My third was a real stop start affair....but when she decided to arrive she was here in 40 mins..... My MWs had left (planned HB) and DH delivered her on the bathroom floor!

o no dont say that im home alone well my 2yr old daughters in bed but she did get a medical kit for her birthday lol so we may manage if it happens

I lost my plug over a ciu

I lost my plug over a couple days, little bits at first n then 1 GIANT plug, once I lost that I started gental contractions pretty much straight away. So for me there was 23 hours between me losing my plug and giving birth.

Have you got a birthing ball? If u have I'd get swivelling on that lots or go for a long walk tomos, try n get baby's head moving down a bit to get things moving along.

well our little man arrived safe and well early hours monday (19th) waters went at 230am got to hospital at 315 and had him in my arms for 420am weighing 9lb 1oz sooo happy got home and settled ready for a massive family xmas
