hello, I had my first two children privately in Australia and am finding the thought of having a third under the nhs daunting. I have heard so many bad stories about being left to fend for yourself during labour etc. My three options seem to be paying for the portland, public at kingston or private at kingston. has anyone any experience of any of the above options?

No, but I have gone private at Chelsea and Westminster which is a good combo as you have a full teaching hospital as well as private wing, worth considering as another option....

Also: I would recommend it highly, if you can afford it. Having done it both ways.

There are a number of private hospitals in central London if you google. An alternative is a private midwife.

Friend went private at Kingston for her two - really recommended it. The other thing to consider is how easy Portland and kingston is for antenatal as could end up but hacked off if having to travel for that, friends I had at Portland had elcs and were happy- not sure what like for other birthing options.
