Just been making myself sob with a book I bought today for 2 yo DD. I'm only 12 weeks so will be saving it for a good few months yet, but it's lovely. 'There's going to be a baby' by John Burningham and Helen Oxenbury. The illustrations are perfect and this line is the one that made made me cry in the bookshop. 'Mummy, can't you tell the baby to go away? We don't really need the baby, do we?'.

Don't know how I'll ever manage to read that line out loud!

I also love "There's going to be a baby" and so does DS (nearly 2). We also enjoy "Changes" by Anthony Browne - it doesn't make me cry in the same way but the illustrations are fantastic. 40+1 and counting.

Congratulations! You've already got some use out of your book then. I'll look out for the Anthony Browne one - I love his books.
