Until how many weeks I can wear Spanks?

I am 12 weeks and just barely started to thicken in the middle but by the evening it is a different story - I look about 20 -26 weeks because of the bloating. I don't want to look pregnant until it is a right time to show so I wounder if I can wear Spanks to keep my bloated belly in control?
Any other anti-bloating advice?

I think you can wear them as long as you feel comfortable - you'll know when to stop. Personally I have never wanted anything tight around my stomach during pregnancy because it is uncomfortable and feels like you're squashing the baby. Sorry I can't help with bloating - never had it (although have never enjoyed a flat belly).

Congrats! I would imagine LO still has plenty of room in there at 12wks and it would be fine. Personally I wouldn't as I have a lot of flubber to hold in and would worry (it all has to squidge in to somewhere). I also wouldn't as is you're already bloated there's a good chance it would be very uncomfy...but it's up to you. You should be ok for now.
Thanks to have large boobs pre-pg I have a lot of tunic-style tops. They've done very well at hiding bumpus...to the point I'm 35wks and one of my neighbours only noticed yesterday...
Anti-bloating? Well, lots of fruit and veg, lots of fluids and moderate exercise (swimming's quite good) to help everything along. Also, try working out if there are any foods in particular that bloat you...carbs and fats are usually the triggers, but some fruits and veg will too. Have a look here.

I preferred the support/control tights as not quite so tight, but still smoothing and holding the wobbles in!

I also got some bad round ligament pain so the tights and a tummy control dress were the most comfy thing around 12-20weeks

They sell maternity spanks on the Top Shop website!!

Hi there, I was a bridesmaid for my sister when I was 12 weeks pregnant... would have been very uncomfortable in the dress only for the spanx (I was very bloated at that stage and hadn't expected to be, it was too late to get the dress in a bigger size). I bought them in a size up from what I normally wear and it was fine. Wore them again a couple of months later for my cousin's wedding - was about 22 weeks then. Haven't worn them since - using large support tights or maternit tights now - very comfy!

Thank you very much for your advises! I don't know why I didn't think myself of maternity support tights especially because normal tights become uncomfortable now.:)

Can I ask when the right time to show is? Confused

KatherineCam · 16/12/2011 09:23

I started to show at about 20-22 weeks with my first. I know it will be earlier this time around but I don't want to look 6 months pregnant when I am only 3. I am very slim and kind of short so my bloated belly for everyone to see in the evenings. Ideally I don't want everyone to guess for at least another month otherwise it may have a negative effect on my work situation.

I felt a lot less bloated after about 12 weeks- when the bump started growing, I was actually smaller and much more comfortable than during the early bloated bit, so maybe you'll get a bit of respite soon?

KatherineCam · 16/12/2011 20:50

Hope so! At the moment I feel like I am about to explode. I am really looking forward when the bloat is going to go away.
